That's just some bullshit excuse people make when they get older, have kids and give up on life. That's also when they get a mini-van and convince themselves they've made good decisions in life and are happy.

Fact is, sports cars are what MOST men want as a kid (Camaro, Mustang, Vette, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc), but then they get older and their "prioities change" meaning, "I accidentally had a kid/kids, then had to get married, now my wife says we need a practical car, and I don't have the money to buy the car I always wanted as a kid. Basically, my dreams have died....but I'm happy with my life?"

Those people aren't "men." Caitlin Jenner is more of a man than minivan drivers.

I'm not so sure about that. If your "dreams" are to drive a sports car then that's a pretty shallow life. I'd take a loving family over a garage full of stuff any day.

No, actually my opinion of what is fun to drive has changed. I had a Mustang GT in high school. I thought it was great. I thought big engines were great. Pure speed was great. BUT, since then I've driven a lot of other cars. Probably the most fun I ever had driving was in a 1984? Nissan Pulsar NX which I drove like a bat out of hell all the time. It was a blast because it was slow, I could drive like a race car driver without losing my license or killing myself or anyone else. A modern 400+ hp car has a lot more speed, but to me it simply isn't as fun to drive.

But actually - this is a much better response.

This is simple, its the Citroen 2CV. Absolutely minimalistic design. 100% lean mean machine. No bullshit everything purely 100% form following function. From the suspension to the road clearance to the seats that you can take out and use as lawn chairs. It is designed to be easy to fix, cheap to own, and as practical as possible.

Of course there is one minor issue, the original base model had a 9hp engine, so it wasn't particularly fast, but, IMO, philisophically, it is one of the most purpose built and best designed feats humanity has ever accomplished. It was perfect for the poor farmers who had survived nazi rule and wanted to rebuild their country.

Most male minivan drivers keep their cock and use it on females, with proof of said actions. And if they did it in the van, well they have shown they can conquer in the most mundane of vehicles.

damn you could hand crank start it up to 1990

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citroën_2CV#Engines

If the starter motor or battery failed, the 2CV had the option of hand-cranking, the jack handle serving as starting handle through dogs on the front of the crankshaft at the centre of the fan. This feature, once universal on cars and still common in 1948 when the 2CV was introduced, was kept until the end of production in 1990.

Camaro and Mustang are poor examples but regardless... between sports cars and mini-vans there is a wide range including practical options such as AWD sports wagons and hatchbacks. Peacocking may be "manly" in the brutish sense but for men of substance is trumped by reason.

plus this

= manly

If only they made the Dodge Grande Poonwagon hand crank. I'll take mine in R/T blacktop edition with chromed knobs please.

Back in the old timey days, you could get a Dodge Caravan with a turbo 4 and 5spd manual.
I'm pretty sure there was a hand crank option buried in the options list somewhere.

Turbo = Brah power
Stick shift = Elite MANual
Minivan means enough room to impregnate females, hand deliver the baby when time comes at the side of the racetrack you shot elephants at, and then transport your offspring to chainsaw throwing contests using only your balls to steer the car. The true origin of 2 in the front, five in the back.

Its what Jesus did and why we now have the country of Australia.

True story

Sounds good on paper until your wife leaves you, takes all your money, and your kids grow up to be jerks or losers. I sound like a jerk for saying that, but the reality is that this scenario plays out every single day.

Getting married and having kids is a huge gamble. You cannot control what type of person your spouse will be in 20 years or how your kids will be when they're adults.

I'm sure you only say that because you've fallen for the marriage/kids scam, right?
