Any model that starts with the name "Mazda", especially the smiley grill years. Oh, and Lexus RX 350 aka soccer mom crossover

Mazda 5, the ultimate mom-mobile of the early 2010s along with the sliding rear doors that no man without children would ever want.

Also, almost forgot the Dodge Neon which might as well be the official car of rural white trash women pretty much guaranteed to have a "let me speak to your manager" haircut.

I've thought about it. If you gave me 100k to spend on a car I might get an Audi a8 or BMW but probably I'd end up with a 35k Acura and be happy. Comfortable, reliable, sporty enough, easy to fix.
That's what guys that can't afford those cars always say.

I'd be hard pressed to pay $100K for a sports car. I'm too cheap.

I always thought of the Scion xB and Kia Soul as chick cars for women who hate chick cars. There's also that Prius V (the bigger Prius), RAV4, Honda Fit, VW Eos, Mercedes CLA, and pretty much every late model Buick.

Yea, I used to be really into cars, but not so much now. Even basic midsize sedans drive very well, so I dont see the need for a sports car or hot rod American car like the Mustang or Camaro. They are very nice cars now, but just too much compromise of room, visibility, comfort and economy for a lot of extra performance that one cant really use. My choice if cost was no object would probably be an Audi A4 Quattro, but even a Honda Accord or Mazda 6 would make me very saisfied. Also, FWD for AWD is a requirement for me since I live in Minnesota, and the roads can be snowy six months out of the year.

My 2007 (pre-smiley years) Mazda 3 sedan is quite the car for what it is.

The reason Mazda Miata's and other Mazdas sell so damn well is because they are the quintessential affordable "driver's car." Few frills, a stiffer ride, and terrific handling.

The 3 is really just a standard sporty small sedan/hatchback design. Not sure what's feminine about it. I can see certain models like the Miata getting that reaction due to the tiny design but there's a reason a lot of older gentlemen get it: because it drives so damn well and they can actually afford it. If you want even more handling and speed you gotta pony up some cash.
The smiley grill years were definitely not their best, but the current/new gen grills are nice and they've got some nice angular lines that give the cars a sharper look when they used to be so roundy.

If you gave me $100k that had to be spent on vehicles, I'd get a nicely restored Willys wagon, a nicely restored VW camper, and some kind of used modern light suv. If I had some money left over, I'd get a Harley.

I have a relative who works as a designer for Mazda. I've asked him about that smiley face. He said other designers complained to the head of the studio at the time, but he did not give a crap about fixing it because he got a job with another manufacturer and was just a lame duck until he started the other job.

This is probably the only car that no one could claim is a chick car.
