What do you do if a company ignores you and wont respond to your email

for an RMA number. I ordered a case from a company out here in CA, found out after 12 hours that I dont like it or want it anymore. On the website of the company it says I have 30 days to return product and if I request a RMA number before 24 hours are up after recieving the product I wont have to pay the 15% restock fee. I requested an RMA number after 12 hours, no reponse. 2 days went by, still no reponse, I email them again asking for an RMA number, been a day now, no response. What do I do?

Call them.

Call them.

Silver PCs does not reimburse any customer the return shipping cost. Items must be in original packaging. Clearly write the RMA number on the outside of the shipping box. A 15% re-stocking fee will be applied after 24 hours of receiving the delivery.

Did you speak to anyone there on the phone? It generally works better than email. Call them first then...

If they won't satisfy you, and if you paid by credit card, call the credit card company and explain the situation to them. They can be almost as good as having a lawyer.

I dont know about the states but in the UK there is the public rights authority which you can report any company to if they have ripped you off / been a pain in the arse etc...

Dunno if you have anything like that over there?!

Oh btw, try calling them first yeah?

Called them, got them to email me the RMA form, they told me to fill it out and email it back and then they will email me a RMA number so I can ship it back. Just emailed the completed RMA form back to them, now waiting on them to email me the RMA number.

I don't understand why you wouldn't have called them in the first place. You only have (had) 24hrs. It involves money. You still haven't heard after 3 days yet you haven't called yet (at least not that you've said here). You must not actually be very concerned about returning it or getting your money. You're still wasting time here asking what you should do.

Doesn't the US have something like the Better Business Bureau??

Edit: You finally got hold of them and you're playing email tag again .... they're gonna tell you your past the 24hrs. Hope you saved your email(s) and full headers. Did you inquire as to how you're supposed to get get a RMA number and file a complaint within 24hrs if they don't check/answer their email?

I'll lose about 20 bucks with the restock fee, doesnt matter to me really, as long as these people take this thing back and refund the rest of my money.

i would have called them in the first place. newegg and excaliberpc are the only companies that i trust to play fair via e-mail.

And the first thing you'll do after you send in the RMA form is apply for a credit card, right?

There's nothing these guys hate more than when Visa or Amex says they're not sending the money.

Sounds like they have a nice restocking fee scam going. You have to email them for an RMA within 24 hours, but they always ignore emails for 72 hours.

Pays better than sending out spam, I guess.

On a card forum this thing happen, no one picks up a phone anymore....company email can easily be deleted as spam, overlooked or simply backlogged (those answers are not what should be happening but it does).

Always call then post if no resolution...I applaud you didn't post the companies name first and bashed them as many will see only the first post and think to avoid the company from now on.

Many will just say "COMPANY Z SUX I EMAILED THEM COUNTLESS TIMES [this should be read as twice in one hour] AND THEY IGNORE ME....MY MONITOR IS DEAD!!!!"

If you have taken the proper steps per their RMA policy. Make copies of all documentation (including copies of all emails and the RMA policy from their web site, dates, times and results of phone attempts) and file a complaint with the Attorney General's office (and the Consumer Protection dept of their state, if different) of THEIR state and THEIR local BBB branch. Also file a mail fraud complaint with the post office (yes, the USPS is investigating internet claims too) and also with the Federal Trade Commission. Forms are available on their respective web sites - follow their time frames exactly. You must be able to show you are making good-faith and continuous effort to get them to back their policies.
. First warn your vendor exactly what you are going to do and give them 72 hrs to respond to your satisfaction. If they don't, then file the complaints as above. Usually just the threat of filing a complaint with the AG and/or Postal Inspectors is sufficient to get most vendors moving. The AGs are really getting after this stuff.
. In the future, never buy from an outfit not rated 90 or better on www.resellerratings.com on custormer satisfaction issues - regardless of how good the price is. Also never buy with anything but CC or USPS money order (iron clad proof of USPS involvement). CC is better because of the usual interminable delays due to gov't bureaucracy...

I found them on resellerrating.com and they had 1 review and the guy who gave the review said they sold him a used case without telling him it was used!
