If you don't have drapes or blinds, get some. You don't want the inside of your house visible. An alarm helps too, make sure you place the stickers and sign everywhere.
Also, don't leave electronics in the open. You can also create a decoy point, such as a safe that is easy to take that has rocks in it (or rig 20 cans of "great stuff" to deploy at once when it is opened, preferably at the robber's house).
When you buy new electronics like a new TV don't leave the box outside for recycling, rather break it down and ensure the label is not visible and shove it in the recycle bin rather than leaving it beside it. The last thing you want to do is advertise that you just bought a 70 inch 3D LED TV and a 7.1 THX certified sound system to go with it.
Electronics themselves can be replaced, but data can't... well it can replaced from offsite backups, but the fact that someone else has sensitive data cannot be reversed. So make sure any data is stored on a machine that is in a secure area of the house. Have all the other machines/devices remotely access the data off that server. That's how I'm setup. If someone breaks into my house they'll probably take my TV and computer. The TV can be replaced (with what would probably be a better model as they change them like every month) and the computer will have an OS and a bunch of drive mapping errors when they turn it on. Suckers arn't getting at my data. Computer can be replaced.
If this is something that is happening a lot then definitely look at a full blown video surveillance solution as well. An FM200 system would be good too, if you have no pets. Chances are a thief is not going to actually tell anyone they're going to rob your house, so just dispose of the body. Having a garbage disposal in the laundry tub drain is a good idea for situations like this. CLR should work well to break down bone content as well.
