What do you expect from the GTX680?

People really have to stop with these ridiculous statements. There is PLENTY of bandwidth and VRAM on the 680 to handle 2560 resolutions. Any discrepancy you saw in the THG charts is either THG being THG, or drivers.

Even if 6970 and 580 have more bandwidth than they really need doesn't mean that the same will hold true for GTX680. 7970 loses 13% of its performance when you lower its bandwidth to 680 level.

Then how come the 7870 performs almost like the 7950 despite having a 256 bit bus and almost 40% less bandwidth?

7950 is actually 15% faster and 7970 is 30% faster. GTX680 will have just a little more bandwidth than 7870 and is supposed to compete with 7970. I'm not saying that memory bandwidth is the worse bottleneck all I'm saying is it affects performance tangibly. Lowering 7970 bandwidth by 33% results in 13% reduction in performance, which is significant, don't you agree?

I can't respond to this poll, as the op has assumed a nv win. After reading kyle's comments - looks like maybe amd wins at high res.

This would explain the unprecedented amount of leaks for nvidia around this launch. Just setting the table to try and define what a win is.

What do I expect? It's the new 8800 series. Everyone will get one or a derivative thereof for it's superior performance/price/TDP.
