I tried to go to bed around 1am this morning and failed miserably until 3am I just couldn't take not being able to get any sleep, so I got my wife up and we were out the door by 4:30am.

We joined the Best Buy line at #126 and #127. It was raining with a temperature of 33F and the line just kept on growing. Umbrellas were bending over backwards from the massive blasts of wind. Employees started passing out vouchers for the products no one really wanted (13" TV/DVD combo) around 5am. Donuts came by soaked from the rain. Candy was tossed from bags, falling on the dripping sidewalk with no one caring (except some lady I saw pick up a piece of gum to chew). Finally at 6am and not a minute sooner, the doors opened and a flood of drenched people systematically entered the store. A few line jumpers that had only arrived 5 minutes before attempted to integrate themselves into the line. It wasn't happening.

To my surprise I scored a Liteon DVD+-RW drive, Buslink CDRW drive, 100 CDR spindle and various media for the family. Isles were tight and people were bitchy. There was just no easy way to move around the store. The isles were boxed off with TVs and other things to encourage order. Bah! The blockades only made traffic worse. Almost 45 minutes waiting on the master checkout line before the line forked.

After that little adventure we hit the mall, grabbed our free snowglobe from JC Penney, picked up some more gifts and swung by OM to get some DVDR discs. The line was worse there, so I conveniently dropped one of the DVD-R packages behind a file thingy in case I returned later when the crowd lessened. We wound up hitting the other OM on the other side of town and were able to get the DVDRs FAR, keyboard FAR (my shift key is broken on the left, so I often don't capitalize well), 100 CDRs FAR and Neato DVD/CD Labeler FAR. We hit other crazy stores in that area and finally visited our newly opened Chick-Fil-A resturant...cashing in our free chicken bisquet grand-opening coupons.

I spent all afternoon filling out rebate forms, scanning all materials and addressing envelopes. I always scan everything in and save jpgs in case I don't get my refund money back. I am such a cheap bastard (don't even print them on paper)

..Went looking for the 50% off DVDRW discs at Compusa at 5pm. long gone baby..

That's my Black Friday Adventure more or less.

Got the BB Lite-ON DVD $79 burner. Best thing was I didn't have to stand in line. Checked their internet site and they were offering the same deals as in-house, with free shipping.

Picked up two 3.3MP Vivitar cameras (pointed out on the Black Friday sites) at Target on Wednesday for $129. Woke up at a leisurely 10AM, walked up to the empty customer service desk and asked for a price match at $88.

Was I the only one to think of this?

Also, if you don't mind, how is it? Picture quality good? Nice viewing angle?

Sorry to bug you about this..there is ZERO info on the net about this player and Target basically takes 15% off of the total if you even open the darn thing and then return it.

Yes, there is an external battery rechargable 7.2V 3600mAH Li-ion, battery piggy backs the unit on the back side, very snuggly. I think I read somewhere its approximate use time is around 2 hours, which really does suck, good news tho it comes with a 9v car adaptor, but I had to wiggle the plug into my cigarette lighter - kind of a lose fitting plug. I drove around town and no problems stayed powered on all the time, didn't even skip I drive a Jeep Wrangler on top of that! Also comes with an AC adaptor plug for home use. I played Matrix and man it rocked! I was very impressed with the quality of this little ah heck. My mom even commented on how crisp the picture was. She actually thought it was to loud as well, hehe. She suggested that I buy one each of my sisters, so I took her to Target and All Gone! I didn't like the cheap feel of how it opened and how the DVD opened as well. Other then that I love it! It fast forwards at 20X, other then that I didn't have time to play around with it much. I can't wait to use it again tho!!!!

Comes with remote control, ac adaptor, ac power cord, car plug adaptor, headphones, rechargeable battery pack, battery chargers, and audi/video cables.

There were a couple slight differences between ordering online and going to the store.. the store was the only place you could get the 18-month no interest financing (for those like me where they wait til the last minute to buy people presents and need to budget it somehow) and also you can't use your Best Buy rewards card online, nor the certificates you may have earned from it that you have in hand. Otherwise I'd of done the same as you and stayed at home. Just thought I would point out the differences.

EDIT: Just looked over the flyer and the 18-month financing was also available online (my bad). So I guess the only difference was the inability to use your rewards member card for more points and to cash out certificates you already earned from the program.

I got..... 18 hours of work, thanks to all the freaks who go crazy shopping. It was insane, almost 1000 people waiting outside in line. I hate this day so much. However I did pick up a Lite-On DVD Burner since it was below employee cost before rebate and especially after rebate.
