Christmas is coming and I want a good PC game.I have good hardware to use it on. I have UT and Quake and Sims and Wing commandor. I like the shooters like UT and space shooters like wing commander.

What would you recommend?

I'm 50 ,going on 13 if that helps.

Rune for that kind, but i have played the demo to sacrifice and it is awesome all around. It is strat. game, but the gameplay, sound, etc is great. Rune is cool too, also only played the demo. If you want something that is really different then anything else you could try that american mcgee's(sp) alice. That is one freaky game.

I assume you have all three Quake games? You can try the original Unreal and the expansion pack, Return To Na Pali.

Also Lucasarts are releasing all three X-Wing/TIE Fighter games in a special bundle in time for christmas, updated for 3D accelerators. If you like space combat sims you won't find anything better than these games.

Tripleshot..have you played Total Annihilation? It's rather 'old' and is only 2D, but I've got several friends hooked and we never get enough of it with all the downloads. In either single or multiplayer this game continues to please me and my friends...err..opponents. My son Tony literally kicks butt in this game! I cannot beat him..or my brother Jeff...or anyone online...which is why I love the singleplayer mode...with enhanced AI! Gotta love those nukes...being a Republican and all.

I just finished playing the Sacrifice demo--it's impressive. Give that and Counterstrike a try. I'm looking forward to Giants as well, which just went gold. IGI (I'm Going In) also got some great reviews--try that demo as well (too bad since I installed DX8 for MW4, it crashes before I can get in with my Rage 128--my Voodoo2 works, but some textures aren't right).

These are great choices. I must have them all(at least all that I can afford.) I just went through my enventory and discovered I do not yet have Q3 Arena. I'm not sure that is important now that I see others you gamers have put up.

Gaming and computer software and hardware transcends politics. Its a great equalizer. I will see if I can find a copy Total Annihilation. I have wholesale software connetions and I will check for these titles.

Keep them coming. I purchased a force feedback headsets at Comdex and they do a pretty good job with music and surround sound affects.(the headsets vibrate in some instances of intense action. cute gimmick)I would like to put that to use and challenge my video card.

If you want to save some money you could look for Freespace 2 . It can be found very cheaply these days (sorry no link, but people have said bout $10-15). It is very good and much like Wing Commander.

Damocles beat me to it. If you like space sims FreeSpace2 is one of the best around and in my opinion better than the WC series but thats just my opinion. As for shooters, there are alot of games that are using the Quake 3 engine try the demos for Alice and Star Trek Elite forces. On the other hand Star Trek The Fallen uses the Unreal engine, did not like the demo for this one as much as the other two. And lastly as for sims, MechWarrior 4 has gotten a lot of good reviews. But the games I am really looking forward to are Sacrafice and Cataclysm both are coming as holiday presents.

Last few days i have been playing "Giants", i must say this game has some of the funniest cut-scenes i have ever seen. Ohh, and the game is fun also. You get to run, sneak, fly, and blow-up stuff, what else could you want?

For some good action, get Counterstrike. It's well worth your time, and if you already have a copy of Half-Life, it's free for download.

BTW, 'The Longest Journey' is a very impressive game. One of the best games I've ever played.

It *is* important. This game should be at the top of your list of games to get.

I have counterstrike. I enjoy it more than half-life.It was a gift from one of my 18 year old sons.

I do not know how I let that escape me,as it is so often used as a benchmark tester for video cards. It is on the list, but not necessarily at the top.

I'm pretty new to the gaming side of my system. UT was the first game I played (and still play) I like all the new maps people are putting out on a daily basis, Oh and All the mods they have out like voises, skins, and models. But I think the best addition to UT is the infiltration mod(not the new one) the old version basically changed your weapons to realistic style (MP5 & M16 Machinegun, shotgun). When I play UT now nothing is at default it's all tweaked out. Sorry about the rambling on about UT I just hope you got to enjoy all these add-ons before you put it on the shelf.
DEUS-EX----will be my answer to your question. This game is exellent it combines a few different genes together. To form one challenging game.

I loved Deus-Ex, but for me it has very little replay value.
It will take you a VERY long time to finish it, so it is still worth owning.
