What do you run as a daily overclock speed?

Some people (including myself) put their max OC in their system profiles to make their e-peens HUGE , but really what do you run as a daily speed? My system runs 3.5GHz with speedstep enabled (2.3GHz) daily.

E6400@3.20GHz (8x400) with an Arctic Cooling Freezer7 Pro/AS5.

All Speedstep/C2/C2/EIST/all thermal throttling options are turned off. Gigabyte P965-DS3 Rev1.0 F10 BIOS. Rig runs 24/7 and has run perfectly for the past 15 months.

My system is stable @ 3.4GHz using 1.46v actual (Vcore under load, after Vdroop & board's slight under-volt; 1.505 set in BIOS). Of course, I like my CPU and would like it to last awhile, so I run what's in my sig 24/7, which is 1.30v actual (Vcore under load, after Vdroop & board's slight under-volt).

My RAM can do better than my sig too (4-4-4-15-2T @ DDR2-900), but it requires an extra .1Vdimm, which makes it too hot for 24/7 use IMO.

AMD 4200+ AM2 (original speed = 2.2ghz) running @ 2.8ghz, soon to increase to 2.9ghz or 3.0ghz.

I set my Vcore in BIOS to +10% above rated voltage (1.465) and enabled C1E and EIST. CPU idles around 1.29V. The load voltage is approximately 1.42V. This yields a maximum stable overclock speed (Orthos, S&M heat, Memtest86) of 3.49GHz at 85F ambient. I only run Orthos for 2 hours.

333x9 stock vCore. 400x8 was stable on F@H for about 18 hours, but once I went to school (and turned off the AC), it crashed and rebooted.

My sig is always my 24/7 config. With excesively high voltage my X2 can hit 2.9ghz and i haven't tried the max for q6600, above 3.15ghz it needs much higher voltage and i can't cool it then either.

My E6420 runs at 8x400 with BIOS voltage of 1.425, SpeedStep and C1E enabled. This is due in part to 1) not being able to overclock much higher, and 2) 8x400 are such clean numbers

I run my e4500 at 3.3ghz(1.46V) to keep it cool and alive while my highest oc so far is 3.4ghz(1.5V). I have been trying to get speedstep and C1E to drop the voltage when ideal too(will have to do some tweaking).

My gaming rig is an A64 4000+ (2.4GHz San Diego core socket 939). It has been running since I got it at 3.12GHz. It could run at 3.2GHz but that required a couple bumps of vcore, plus I had to drop my RAM multiplier down.

My main rig is an A64 x2 3800+ (2.0GHz socket 939). It has been running at 2.4GHz passively cooled and stock vcore with a Scythe Ninja for around 2 years now. I could push it just above 2.5GHz with a vcore boost, but I elected to run it passive. Also, the higher speed would have caused a RAM multiplier drop as well.

So, basically I don't run it at the bleeding edge, but find a good compromise between a nice overclock with decent RAM speeds, without major vcore boosts.

Wow, I am surprised you could hit 3.2Ghz with that A64... Astounding, honestly...

E6300 @ 2.8 GHz, RAM I have sucks, been looking for RAM that'll overclock well but not break the bank either, also looking for 4 GB range when ever I move to Vista. Right now, it does everything smoothly for me, Hearts of Iron: Armageddon runs quick, so I'm happy for now.

Check out HP DDR2 667 RAM at hot deals forum. Easy 400MHz/5-5-5-15-2T with only 2.0V. Default is 1.8V/333MHz/5-5-5-15-2T. Only $9 AR. Should work with many C2D boards.

E4300 @ 3000mhz (9x333 @ 1.425v) with EIST. Can't get it any higher even with more voltage. Oh well I should be happy with the free performance.

i stopped overclocking in college. i suppose i also dont play games anymore so i figure i should just save electricity and use an intel retail branded board (they never break, have excellent warrranties, and have good bios and driver updates).

maybe im just lazy now in my older age haha. but i run my e4400 @ stock as well as my 2 servers an e2140 and celeron 420. i generally just buy cheap budget stuff too... lowers my carbon footprint! haha
