The arrow points a direction that you should be going, but then it's red indicating you should stop.

Does the red arrow differ from a red light, i.e. can you turn left on red if you yield or something crazy?

Nope, same as a red light (it's a left turn only lane).

Topic Title: what do you see outside your window?

Murder. Rape. Debauchery. More rape. Theft. Muggings.

I hate working behind the CIGNA headquarters...

I see a parking lot, desert, and big honking mountains. When I worked in Cheyenne I could see the front range marching away to the south. On clear winter days, I could see the tip of Pike's Peak 150+ miles away.

No window in my cubicle in the lab. I have to go over to the undergrad cubicle to see skyscrapers and the sky, but it is a little crowded over there.

I just got back from that trip to Bermuda on the Dawn. Man that was a ROUGH ride home. I threw up Saturday morning from motion sickness. I still felt swaying back and forth on Monday, at home. Anyway, if you were roaming about, we were the ones with the twins in the buffet and the Venetian restaurants making a huge mess beneath their phatty high chairs that attach to tables everyone was amazed with. It's like people have never seen these things at Babies R Us before.

I have a great view of a river that's about 200 feet from our building. Across the river is a park and a tree-lined hillside. It's gorgeous.

The only windows here are on the doors to the engineering office. Outside that is the door to the men's room, as well as a view of a loading bay.
Oh, and there's a small hole drilled in the wall which allows a GPS antenna to go through to the other side; this particular room has steel framing, the spacing of which apparently acts as a faraday cage for 1.575GHz signals.

I missed that one. I was in NYC for a personal issue. Of course I've been hearing about it. Looks like it's going to be rough coming back this weekend.

Funny thing as I used to have issues with mal de debarquement syndrome too but after a while you adjust. Now it seems if I'm ashore too long it starts feeling strange. Staring at something as simple as an automotive cigarette lighter can cause a spinning sensation! :Q

Aside from the weather hopefully you had a good time.

In the "rougher" venues I used to try to tell myself the chicken wire in front of the stage was for that purpose!

I am surrounded by thick concrete and steel bars :S The only windows are shuttered so you can not really see outside. Well there is one window about 30 feet up, but I can not see out of it.
