What do you think about a guy doing nails?

As with all jobs in the beauty field men can make lots of money, simply because women like you to tell them they look good. The only reason I know this is my mom has done hair and nails for many years, even owns her own salon. But over and over men who are not as good as her can charge more, and make more money.

I'd say go for it, but in most states you have to have a liscense.

Many of my friends do nails, I also did nails for awhile back in undergrad. The money is great. I routinely make $200/day, $300/day on special occasion like Valentines, Homecoming, Xmas, Mother's Day, etc... Another big plus is that you get paid CASH (read : no taxes). And all of your customers are women/girls, easy way to meet chicks that way. Most of my friends who do this full time make ~$4000/month CASH. I'd wager that this puts them easily in the upper middle class category, not shabby for something that requires neither high school or college degree.

As many members has mentioned is how strong you are with self image...Personally I wouldn't turn it down as a summer job. I have taken many odd jobs that is not too high on the social ladder including janitorial to put my self through 7 years of University and it make me a stronger person. As our beloved toolgirl has mentioned, she would "rather get a cute guy to do her nails instead of some girl", just think of what great tips that you could get from them...And the best tips is how they want to be treat by men.

You will be $900 + tips richer per month, a wealth of info on wonen social needs (which take most men more than a life time to acquire), and you will have your self worth/pride in check

i say go ahead. i like to do my nails on occasion(yes i am a guy) but not usually because it gets chipped off to easily(auto shop is hard on the nails ) it's 900+tips, if i got the chance i would. good money

hey dude, i say give it a shot, they'll probbly have you emptying trash cans, and doing junk, rather than nails. my cuz, used to work in a joint like that, and the girl's who mainly do the nails, love having a gofer around. Go fer coffe, go for another 5 gallon bucket of cancer causing stuff. Hope the joint has ventilation systems above the stations, and go for it. But if they actually want you for painting nails, they must be desprate, or you've exhibited some aptitude to dextrous tasks.
And 900 a month, ain't too bad. Of course for after school work, if you really want to learn pc's find a friend of the family that works at a small office, that doesn't have any IT help.
I learned alot that way, because at my dad's office they have about 30 pc's but no IT in the office, and my dad used to cover it on his weekends, but they've gotten more pc's in the office, and more idiots working them, so very frequently, I found myself in there helping, and I've been able to learn alot.

I Say go for it... you are making $900/mo. That's allot, I don't know how old you are but I'm 17 and I make like $500/Mo. at minimum wage working 5 days a week and you are making almost double that 3 days a week. Depending on what they want you to do with these nails, it could acctually be interesting... it could be an art... around here people are getting airbrush designs on their nails, so there is an art perspective to it... it's not any more homosexual than you make it out to be.

A cute girl around your age comes in to get her nails done. You do her nails, and hit it off quite well. She makes another appointment for two weeks down the road. Two weeks later she comes in, you start doing her nails. The conversation goes very well, shes telling you all her problems and you guys are clicking. You may not be gay. You may be super hetero. But people will assume. If you can live with that. Go for it. I guess...........
