That's a problem I have...people at work that have guts the size of a beer keg and all they can talk about is baseball. None of them could run to first base if their life depended on it. Not very interesting to talk with.

College football is ridiculous... What do a bunch of thugs who don't go to class yet retain full scholarships, get off scott free for girlfriend beating, are a huge sink of money, have never and will never contribute anything to society, can't write their names, and aren't students do to deserve admiration and support? Why does a UNIVERSITY spend money on SPORTS at all?

The same things apply to professional sports, except they don't represent academic corruption.

 must make life easy to just put everybody in a few little bins.

FWIW (very little) I lettered in soccer (starting goalie) & track, rode a bike across the country (E->W and N->S), ridden dozens of centuries, played ultimate in college and now, and ski <><> every winter. But I'm not "a man" because I couldn't care less who won the big game last night? Wow - I could've saved myself alot of effort if I had just stayed home and sat on my ass with a beer.

I personally don't "get it". What's the appeal of watching some grossly overpaid team that you have, at best, an accidental geographic connection to play a game that will never have any real impact on me. I guess I'm not good at living vicariously.

But the stereotype definitely exists. I've met women who couldn't believe I don't spend every sunday afternoon in front of the tube and obviously thought I was strange because of it. Whatever - I'm not interested in anybody with those priorities.
you pulled that right out of context. and the is there for a reason, Armitage.

what i said later in the post was that it doesn't matter to me if a person is into sports or not. but if you need to quote me on that bit, fine. whatever. i'm a dick that puts everyone into a neat little pigeon hole. life's easier that way.

seems like you put some people in a neat little bin yourself.

But I didn't post to give my personal story. I'm just curious about a comment above. You're not attracted to people who like sports? Huh? Are you guys really that nit picky when it comes to picking people? Do you ignore someone because they like orange sherbet and you like mint chocolate chip?

I don't watch them on tv anymore but I cycle 1-200 miles per week and hit the gym regularly.

Do you mean effeminate?

Same 40-200 miles a week, with a little gym, but I play basketball and coach as well, not much into watching it though, except for the occassional bball game.

A hetero athletic healthy guy that doesn't like sports doesn't really exist.

When I was working out 3-4 times a week, I fit that description. Haven't had time or gym money lately ... kids are expensive.

they can be uninterested, but if they are totally clueless about ALL sports then ya, I think something is screwy

I think if the definition of sports is loosened a bit, I think everyone can find a physical activity they enjoy. I love hiking, rock climbing, and scuba, none of which are really considered as sports by most people I know

I used to play sports when younger, however I could care less to watch any sports. I may sit down and watch it if someone is watching it but more than likely like my dad I will fall asleep

I don't watch/follow/talk about any sport. None of my friends watch/follow/talk about any sport. Are we strange? Fvck yes. But that's mainly due to all of the acid.

my in-laws are like that...no sports at all...

and the funny thing is, my mother in law talks like her husband and sons are "true men" and into "manly things," yet, they do not like sports at all...don't follow it, don't enjoy it...my male in-laws are very "not manly"...

otherwise, I don't like guys who don't like sports...I now if a guy doesn't like sports (playing or following) then we wont get along.

THere are just some things that playing and following sports fosters...very big things...

I hate most sports. I find them extremely boring and dull to watch, and I'm mostly too lazy and indifferent to play any.
As far as I can tell, most people are lazy and indifferent, so I can't be that strange.

What about people who aren't into computers at all, are they normal or strange?
Or how about people that are vegetarians, they don't even eat meat, how strange is that?
blablabla.....

It doesn't matter if someone likes one thing and somebody else likes something else, that's like, people are different.

i couldn't agree more. and same goes for their looks... if they are branded with 100 logos and you think they're stupid because of it, you're dumb.
