I don't like to watch any sport except for golf because it puts me to sleep. Now I will play just about any sport but watching is another thing entirely.

So other interests are not legitimate? That's pretty sad.

I'm not that into sports but I love to see my school win. I've been to some games.

I was at my son's freshman induction ceremony, and the school's coach gave a speech. He was later miffed that everybody didn't bother to help sing their fight song, or whatever the fvck it was.

I played most of the common team sports for a year each during my elementary school years, just to see what they were about. Except for a couple games of football (like 3) over the years, I haven't played one since.

Basically I hate sports. I NEVER watch them, never play them, never talk about them. Generally speaking I'm in opposition to them, though I want people to be able to play them if they choose I do NOT want any of my tax money going to them (ie school sports).

Most of my family are fairly into sports, but of my friends only one is into sports. In fact, most of the rest despise sports more than I do.

I should point out that I'm talking about normal or team sports. I enjoy paintballing, exercising, hiking, biking, martial arts, and so on.

That would describe me. So I'd say that it isn't a metric to determine if someone is strange or not. I know I am not.

Do you mean effeminate?
i mean "at all." he doesn't follow any sport. he isn't at all interested in hearing about anything sport's related.

describes me pretty well when it comes to sports

Sounds like me.
I workout about 4 days a week but seriously (not) into
sports like golf, baseball, basketball, hockey, football.
They just the bore the hell out of me.
I do like kayaking, tennis, and lovemaking though.

I like playing some sports...but just strictly for fun factor...I never get serious or competative, and when someone asks me if I play sports, I automatically assume they mean "competatively" and I answer no. So Id say ya it's normal, my dad doesnt play or watch any sports at all, he likes sailing, and he's fairly normal. If a person doesnt do any physical activities at all, then thats pretty weird Id say.

and the funny thing is, my mother in law talks like her husband and sons are "true men" and into "manly things," yet, they do not like sports at all...don't follow it, don't enjoy it...my male in-laws are very "not manly"...

otherwise, I don't like guys who don't like sports...I now if a guy doesn't like sports (playing or following) then we wont get along.

THere are just some things that playing and following sports fosters...very big things...

Wow.. You're what they call "crazy". The fact that your life revolves around sports and your poor command of grammar create the impression that you are a BONEHEAD.

Simple observation of mine. my life doesn't revolve around sports (as yours revolves around grammar...that is gay...).

I have observed (in general) that when guys don't like sports (even women sports) I wont mesh with them. They are more girly, deal with it, that is the perception with most males as it is with me.

Funny how you critisize me for a post I make about generalizing, and you go and try to label me based on one post to a internet form. I would explain more, but I don't think you'd get it...

95% of them are PANSIES... i have very few friends who are not INTO sports, but are atleast mildly ATHLETIC... that is, they can do ok when playing something...

but then there are people i know who seems to be so adversed to anything athletic .. who seem to be afraid of any ball, puck, or paddle ... its PATHETIC.

you dont HAVE to know the difference between the Lombardi and the Heisman trophy, but if you dont have hand-eye coordination or the BASIC motor skills of being able to throw an object a reasonable distance (without looking like a bent-elbow limpwrist), might as well CUT OFF YOUR OWN JOHNSON.

oh, theres another funny type, though: there are a few who KNOW SO MUCH about sports, and think themselves good, but can't play anything worth-a-damn! i get a kick out of those, too...

agreed

the same could be said about any sort of entertainment.

What fun is going to a music concert if you're not playing?

What fun is going to a stand up comedy routine, if you're not performing?

it's entertainment.

That depends on what they are in to besides sports. Music, movies, games, hunting/fishing?

However, when you can talk about sports, you can usually strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger. Try doing that by talking about your new video card.

Also, I use the "sports" tactic to drive away annoying people. Annoying, geeky/nerdy people will always shut up & walk away when you start talking about sports. There is a guy in the office that everyone is annoyed by, and to get rid of him, we start talking about sports. Works everytime. It doesn't even have to be real. I can say "Did you see Walter Payton pitch last night? Wow, he is better than Lennox Lewis!"

Ah another poorly thought out reply... if the sports watching occured at similar hours as the posting occurs, then you'd have an argument. Need I clarify that one?
