What do you think of the people that put A1 on a $40 steak?

Well, a steak is ruined once it's cooked past medium. Then it's too dry and abscent of flavorful juices. At that point I'm grabbing the steak sauce to help moisturize the chunk of rubber sitting in front of me.

You must not know how to cook a steak past medium.

I think they have poor taste. Salt and pepper enhance the flavor of the meat. A1 drowns it out. If you didn't want to taste the beef why buy a $40 steak in the first place? I also don't understand why anyone would cook a good cut of beef to medium or even worse well done.

About a pound of sauteed mushrooms is what I'll usually enjoy w/ a reeeally good steak! But that's just me.


I like the flavor of steak too much to put something as overpowering as A-1 on it, but aside form that........meh............to each their own???



P.S. Anybody else gettin' hungry as a mofo for a nice steak right about now????????????

I think that if a person pays $40 they should feel free to cover it in A1, whipped cream with chocolate sauce or even radioactive waste. It's their money, their taste buds and their steak. They should eat it in any way which gives them the most pleasure.

I like to put A1 on my baked potato but I feel stupid asking for it when I order a good steak

A1 is too flavorful, it'd cover up the nuisances that seperate a good steak from the 15.99 slab of meat you get at chile's.

and personally anything steak past medium, you might as well just make it a phillycheesesteak

A1 blows but why should I care what anyone else puts on their steak? Now if they put it on my steak, I'm likely to carve a fresh filet off their ass and grill that up in its place.

I'd just be puzzled about why he bothered to buy such an expensive steak when it won't taste any different from a cheap steak at a casual dining chain when he slathers A1 on it. I don't care, really. I just don't get it.

I have never used A1, and know that it doesnt belong on a steak. The best steak is a nice marbled cut that is dry aged...does that mean that bacteria is a topping? Usually I just do a little salt and pepper.

A1 is nasty. If a steak is cooked right, you don't need any kind of sauce on it. I dont remember the last time I used A1....probably 10+ years ago.
