Good monitor, but I would get the Samsung 900NF instead. Should run around ~$370 with the same discounts.

My next door neighbor at school had a KDS 19 incher. Not a Trinitron, but it was a nice model with a USB hub and a built in microphone.

It broke just before school got out but KDS shipped him a new one right away.

That monitor is one of the best for non professional use on the market today. I endorse KDS products for all users. Visit there site and review the warrenty and support for thier products. There is none better. You will be very pleased with your choice.

KDS makes really good monitors for a good price. I sell KDS monitors with MOST of the systems that I sell and have never had a problem with them

My opinion hasn't changed.I've seen the KDS monitor side by side with Samsung SyncMaster 900NF and it spanks Samsung.

Tripleshot: Im not really in the mood of getting into a huge debate again. Lets just say the FD Trinitron(KDS) and DiamondTron NF(Samsung) is technically Ford/Chevy, which one looks better is solely personal opinion.

I have an Avitron AV-7T w/c is the 17" version w/ the Trinitron tube.

If you don't mind the aperture grill lines, these monitors are great for the C-Bills slapped for them.

I can stare at this monitor for hours doing my work @ 1024x768 @ 85Mhz and not get a headache. Or is it b/c I have a Matrox G400 32MB DH for a Windows display?

If you go w/KDS go w/the Avitron line.

I don't know about Samsung's line, though they do have a budget monitor line called Samtron.

Samsung is IN STOCK there, you just need
to call the Customer Service. Onvia
has one of the best Customer Service btw.

Samsung has flatter tube than KDS (FD
Trinitron) and BNC ports (great for
graphics).

Both are good monitors.

ok it all comes down to sumsung vs. kds since they are both in stock. Man i hate this i ust want my montitor and comp built. thanks for the help everyone. any last suggestoins greatly appreciated. i don't know if it matters but i plan on doing graphics,3d studio max, and a lot of 3d games.

ok since there is no clear winner between those two what if i throw the sony g400 in the mix. Now what to pick between the three?

You have to keep in mind that the G400 cost close to $200 more than the two monitors you're considering now. But if I have that kind of money, I would go with this order:

Sony G400 ~$560
Mitsubishi DiamondPro 900u ~$500(Edit Sh!t it's actually $570 now)
Mitsubishi DiamondPlus 91 ~$450
Samsung SyncMaster 900NF ~$350(with coupons and stuff)
KDS AV-195TF ~$340(with coupons and stuff)

The best price/performance ratio belongs to the bottom two(Samsung and KDS). Personally I would go for something in the middle of the pack, like the Mitsubishi DiamondPlus 91.

On warranty and service issue... The monitor comes with a 3 Years warranty and 1st year onsite for free. We also have our Advanced Replacement program similar to what KDS has.
