Got it from Gamefly today. Just played for about 2 hours and I'm on chapter 5. I'm pretty terrible at shooters on consoles, but I'm having just as much fun as I did with the first one.

well, i just beat the game and all i can say is WOW! the graphics, voice acting, and gameplay are top notch. multiplayer alone could've made them money if they sold it separately.

Played up to chapter 18 tonight. It just keeps getting better, and the graphics are unreal. Hopefully I'll finish it tomorrow.

Uncharted 2 is pretty spectaluar in just about every way. I'm a huge fan of the first game despite the issues (that I think we can all agree on) it had with it, but the 2nd addresses just about every concern I had.

It's weird because when I can't really think of too much that is particularlly wrong with it. I suppose the sort of automatic hot-spot jumping/grabbing was something I didnt like, but it's so minor it's almost no worth mentioning.

Also, I played some of the MP and it's indeed fun. I'm actually looking forward to going back and playing the game once more.

I'm pretty sure the graphics are the best I've ever seen anywhere--at least on my TV.

What did you think was wrong on the first one? Ive played part way through and just rented it to finish it, but im curious to see what was problematic and (since i received part 2 in the mail also to finish after part 1) how the sequel improves on them.

thanks warcrow. your input is always welcome!

It's a really great game dont get me wrong but the shooting mechanics dont feel (overall) as tight as they should. Plus, what you hear about the enemies is true--they're bullet sponges. No MP is missing for those who care (no I, but its worth mentioning), and the ending portion of the game it a little "...uh...wtf?" in regards to the villans. Oh, and I thought Naughty Dog could have had more adventure/puzzle elements to the game just because they do it so well (lord knows Laura isnt doing it anymore).

If I could just throw in my two cents--definitely complete Uncharted 1 since you're already playing it before moving on to the 2nd. It's a fun ride and the ending is bad enough to skip, its just not mind blowing.

Yeah, I thought Uncharted was just OK but Uncharted 2 is a big improvement. Definitely one of the best games of the year.

i just beat Uncharted 1, and it was fucking awesome. the zombies took me by surprise since it seemed pretty realistic up until then, but i liked it. they were pretty freaky.

cannot wait till i start Uncharted 2 tomorrow. and its supposed to have better graphics/gameplay!?

heres a question...under audio options in uncharted, it says center speaker size: small, large. what exactly is the criteria for choosing large over small and vice versa? i want the best audio quality possible from my 7.1 system.

I only played the first four chapters, but I liked Uncharted 1 a lot better. Chapter 1 was just terrible. 2 steps forward, 1 scripted step backward. If you're going to put me in a situation where I have absolutely no control over what happens, just make it a cutscene so you waste less of my time. I'll probably rent it again since everyone says it's so great... hopefully it gets better.

I completely agree. I liked Uncharted 1 much better. It seemed more "fresh" at that time than this one did.

this game felt better to me because it addressed alot of the problems of the first one

uncharted 1 there seemed to be waves and waves of guys coming at you

in this one it seemed to be structured better. Where there would be 3 big waves. Clear one and a big wave comes from behind. Instead of 8 small waves where you are waiting in one spot to kill all of them.

AI was better in this one

Pacing seemed better in this one as well. There was no real dull spots in this game either. Also I liked the variety of gameplay better (IE stealth, more diverse vehicles, more puzzles than just jumping). The train part in the end was one of the best parts of the game. There was no equivalent to that in the first game. The last boss in the first game was way too easy as well. Not that this one was that hard but he wasn't a joke compared to the last boss of Uncharted 1.

Also they added multiplayer that didn't seem like it was an afterthought. It actually is a good multiplayer experience and complements the single player nicely.

Instead of starting another thread, I'll ask here. Is there a way to turn off PS3's game upscaling, or is unchecking 1080P/leaving only 720P checked the only way? I ask because the XMB looks really blurry and aliased on my set with 1080P off, but Uncharted 2 looks worlds better (no more darkness issues)

I didn't see this answered anywhere so I figured I'd chime in. The PS3 won't upscale games if you select the right options. Set the system to display 480p/720p/and 1080i/p. At that point it will always output the resolution that is best for the game which is usually 720p. If the game is native to 1080p then it will display that. Uncharted 2 always runs at 720p for me when I have a 1080p TV.

I have yet to find a game that is 1080p native. There might be one.

I played that before I got my 1080p TV and have since sold the game. I tried finding info online about it and all I found was the game engine rendering resolution which is below 1080p. I don't know if the game is coded to be output at 1080p native.

Got a PS3 for xmas and was looking into some games. I downloaded the demo. I lasted till the first ''gun fight''. It's nothing more than TR with a dude. I much rather spend 15 hours or so looking at LC's animated ass and tits than some scrub. An updated TR with these graphics would be much more enjoyable. Oh, and the Resistance games kick ass!

***SPOILERS***

Finally got to play through this game by borrowing it from a friend. I loved the first Uncharted, and the second trumps it in every conceivable way. The story was fantastic and delivered very well. I absolutely loved every single bit of the dialogue, especially the bits between Nate and Elena/Chloe during gameplay. Several times it was laugh-out-loud funny and always witty and interesting.

The action was very intense at points. I loved the set pieces like the one where the attack chopper literally crumbles the building you're in, the run-away from the jeep in the alley, the long vehicle chase with Elena scene in the latter half of the game, and the platforming at the end of the game across the crumbling bridge thing.....just to name a few. There was never a dull moment throughout the entire game.

I liked that there was more exploration and climbing compared to the first. Sometimes I did get stuck though and didn't know how to proceed, so the built-in help system was a welcome addition.

My main problem with the game was mainly with the last parts of the game as you were finding your way to shambala. You and Elena are chasing after Lazarevic and the old guy he was holding. You're jumping chasms, climbing cliff walls on ropes, and literally creating your own path at times so you both can get across. However, somehow Lazarevic and his cronies are one step ahead of you. How in the fuck are they supposed to be making this trek too, especially with a badly injured old man they were keeping hostage? It just seemed so absurd that you were climbing cliff walls, jumping insanely large gaps, and solving puzzles to continue while he and his dozens of men were navigating all of this too.

Not to mention that when you finally reach Shambala, it's simply a wide-open golden city located in a valley. All this time we were going through all of this trouble when we could've just flown a helicopter over the mountain? It just seemed kinda stupid that Shambala was considered this big hidden city when it was out in the open for anybody with air travel to see. Then there was the issue of countless bad guys constantly being ahead of you, waiting for you to navigate treacherous and seemingly impassable obstacles, even in Shambala.

Overall, absolutely fantastic game, loved it. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good adventure. Graphics were amazing, story telling was superb, action was awesome, gameplay was fantastic.

I liked it. Fun, great story, the best acting in any game I have played. Only downside was it seemed a bit short to me. It was the first game I have bought(actually my wife bought it for me since I hadn't bought anything for myself in a long time) in a while so I was itching to play but it only took me two days to finish it.

Uncharted 2 is good and I got it as a present. It is a good game, but I think Resident Evil 5 is still the best game on the PS3 by far .

Wow hate to necro this but as opposed to starting my own thread...

Holy shit this game was awesome! I don't really know what else to say. Well, I guess I have to go back and finish the first one now. Was stuck on chapter 18 when there was a firmware update that caused the game to start glitching.

How long until Uncharted 3 now? UGH.

BTW, now I'm staring at the opening screen and 'Press the START button' is flashing... and I'm pissed. I'm pissed because I know it's going to be awhile until I'm as satisfied with a game.
