I'm the only one that ever used winamp3, i think. There were some things I liked better about that version (like te id3 view).
Now I'm winamp 5x.
I've used sonique andsome others, gotta go with winamp.

foobar2k + otachan's asio plugin + Replagayin (track/attenuation) + EQ

DFX = ewww
perhaps with better gear you might come to realize that, i was another avid dfx worshipper back in acs48 days.

i print out the mp3 in binary on paper, then read the 1 and 0 reeeeeeeeeeeeealy fast.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but certainly ten folds more functional than any winamp incarnation.

foobar comes with standard volume control plugin, but most do not see a use for it as there is a way more nifty feature called replaygain. winamp has a imitation called mp3gain, although somewhat inferior (changes a mp3 file itself unlike replaygain)

winamp5 here...tried foobar2000 but it sucks IMO for a wealth of reasons (not sound quality wise)

Also, is the replagayin needed?
