What do you use your pocket pc for?

I develop software for clients that run on Pocket PC and/or Palm, so that's the only reason I own one. It's too expensive ($600+ for my iPAQ at the time) and too large to carry around with me everywhere. Paradoxically, it's too large of a device yet too small to do the things I'd really want with such a device (i.e. I'll use my laptop).

I want a VERY SMALL device for extremely primitive things (contacts, appointments, email, etc.). I really have no need to browse the internet on such a terribly neutered screen. If I want to hop on the net, I'll grab my laptop.

On another note, I've developed software for the Pocket PC for use in inventory/receivings, purchasing, etc. and it works great for them.

I bought my iPaq to play around with Linux on it. Installed it, played around with it, then it collected dust. Its gone now.

I use my Pocket PC for wireless web browsing, calendar/address book synronization, and as an MP3 player. Pocket Word and Excel are kind of useless, though, because the screen is too small and the handwriting recognition sucks.

A T68 is your friend. Small contact list and appointments and you can email. I use it for the first two though and not email. Works great.

Keep my yearly schedules and class timetables and alarms on it. All my contacts on it. You can sync with your pc contact list with outlook also. Good stuff. Very small and the battery lasts HOURS AND HOURS! And you can play games on it. Tetris is your friend.

I personally don't have a pcoket pc, have no real need for it and its not small enough for me.

I use mine mainly for notes, to do's, games, and mp3 (i got a 1gb drive). I turn off the backlight when listening to mp3s and it hardly uses any battery power. I have the ipaq 3835

If you're going to use your PocketPC as an MP3 player- be sure to buy the program ScreenOff <only like $2>. It allows you to turn off the screen while the MP3 plays- practically doubles your battery life! I can play MP3's for like 6 hours before charging w/ ScreenOff.
