I don't think so. It's the same company. The bikes are made in Germany. It's Bavarian (or the German equivalent). I always thought it was "Worken" and I have seen that but I'm not a German expert. BMW's British involvement is via their purchase of Rover, Mini-Cooper, and Rolls Royce. They also build engines for some of the BMW cars in England.

What the hell do I care what young Germans think? Mercedes wipes the floor with BMW.

In Germany, the M-B is considered an old man's car. The BMW is what appeals to the younger drivers. The only M-B that wipes the floor with the BMW is the new SL. Otherwise, the BMW is a better car IMO.

I thought that you'd care what young German's think because you'd probably be the type to own a BMW or Mercedes simply because of its status.

Riiight... and the McLaren F1 will still own the SLR even though its almost 10 years old. That's McLaren engineering too... powered by a BMW V12.

I believe it was supposed to look like a white propeller blade, against a blue sky. It goes back to BMW when they made military aircraft engines during WWI

When the company was founded, it stood for Array Technology Inc. They eventually renamed themselves to ATI Technologies. Now the "ATI" part is no longer an acronym and doesn't really stand for anything.

Array Technology Inc. Technologies wouldn't really make sense now would it?

You have that the other way around son. The Mercedes is the boring car. Just ask anyone from Germany. Most young people won't be caught dead in a Mercedes in Germany.

Proof? Ive driven several models of both. BMW > Mercedes.
