What does Gigabyte have to hide?

Admittedly I can't think of many NIC chipsets I would reject, but hypothetically speaking, if I saw an Atheros network chip on a desktop board I was considering, I would probably pick something else instead. Trying to find up-to-date Atheros drivers is a pain and I shouldn't have to resort to third party sites.

My confidence in Intel's driver support took a hit the other day though, I was looking for up-to-date drivers for a 4695AGN (IIRC) laptop wireless adapter, went to the Intel site, gave it that information, it brought up what allegedly was the latest driver for this adapter, except that in the extra information it says that it doesn't include a driver for this adapter at all. It doesn't list an older version to download either, so it's as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Is this what you are looking for? It's the driver for Linux, I'd imagine the generic windows drivers would handle anything Intel. If not, the OEM should have drivers for at least the OS the laptop shipped with.
