Mine is kinda long too... Back in the fall of '93, I was first introduced to the internet. Most of my friends were either away at college or just going to college and they all started playing a particular MUD (Multi User Dungeon) called Northern Crossroads. Being this was way before instant messaging and I didn't know about IRC, I joined this mud so I could talk to my friends. I started a character named Thing that was loosely based on one of my most favorite super heroes, Thing from the Fantastic Four. I spent a good year or so on that MUD and later achieved "god" status. I noticed a few of the other gods had Lord or Lady in their title so that people would know they were not standard players. So, I added it to mine. Besides, I figured that no one would be using that name on the net (especially since what I wanted to use, foose, was taken) so I started using it for everything. So far, I haven't came upon another LordThing.
