When my wife and I got our first online account (back in '95) there wasn't any internet in these here parts (NE PA) we wan't something that could describe both of us. Me, being the computer/nerd/hacker/geek and her, being the dog loving/training/hospital visiting/breeding/ volunteer. Thus was born "compuDOG." When we finally got Internet service. I jumped on the HTML bandwagon and started a page in the free space of my host (1MB.) Then Microsoft came out with IE 3.0 and had this contest called ExploreThis! sweepstakes. I coded my page to take advantage of Microsoft's proprietary IE tags (marquee etc) and my little page became famous. It was featured on Microsoft's site and ate up lots of my ISP's bandwidth from all the reciprocal links from the MS contest site. The ISP got cheesed off and shut down my page! :| Anyway, my new site sux, and the Internet steam-rolled anything that was cool back in '95 and I just can't keep up.
That's my sad story.
