We keep things separated, was that way before we got married and just kept it the same. I handle all the finances anyway so doesn't really matter, simpler this way.

Separate atm, but we have only lived together for two months. We share the running costs, and both do grocery shopping. She pays half of the cost of water, electricity, insurance etc. We live in an apartment I've bought, and since she is still studying I'm paying the downpayment solely.

1 main joint checking
1 main joint credit card
1 main joint savings account

Each have own personal credit card for stealth purchases (gifts, etc).
Each have own personal savings account that are basically carry over from before we were married.

Shared Google Sheet to collaborate on and track finances.

Joint everything. We discuss large purchases before making them.

When Banc Bank, the Mega Banking Bank with the Personal Touch® bought out our last bank (er, bought out the bank that bought out our bank) they bumped my wife from joint account holder to authorized user on our oldest credit card, wiping out twenty years of credit history. We had to argue with them but eventually she got it back. If you do share all finances it is important to make sure both spouses are getting credit for a good credit history.

Pretty much joint everything. There is a checkings only I have access to that is used to pay the bills, but those funds come from joint checkings which all money is deposited to, so she can see what is moving around (not to mention she has access to my login too).

Joint Checking and saving accounts.

We talk about spending money over a set dollar amount so we don't have any surprises at the end of the month.

I have a joint checking, I have a joint savings and then a "junk fund" that she has access to and a debit card for but its just an understood rule that since i am better about saving money, she doesnt mess with it. I use this account for my hobbies, or if we need something large done to the house or furnishings etc.

All banking is joint.
Investment accounts I'm in solo to reduce the necessary paperwork.

Completely separate, except I added wife on a couple CC's so she can buy groceries.

I'm sole earner, take care of 100% of all financial stuff.

I'm always mystified when I hear married couples with separate accounts and they each 'pay into' a joint account to pay bills or some sort. That's not a marriage, it's a business deal.

Joint checking, joint savings. What else is there?

Same here... in fact, we procrastinate so much, it took us 4 years to replace our old pickup truck... with another pickup truck. We get excited when we actually go out and buy something within a week or two of deciding to purchase something.

I buy guns and stuff, she buys cooking stuff... we just talk about it, if the money is there, I get the green light... if it isn't, I wait. I'm self-employed, so I generate 95% of our household income, but she runs the bank accounts.

My folks do separate everything. They just had their 37'th anniversary. Their marriage today is as good or better than it has ever been. Different strokes, different folks. Some people are swingers and that bolsters their relationship, don't ask me why, I don't know ...

We have a joint chequing account. I have a TFSA in my name only because that's what's allowed by law. Once my account hits the contribution limit in a couple of weeks, my wife will open one in her name, and we'll continue to put weekly deposits into her account from out joint account the same way we've done with mine.

We share a joint account, checking and savings.

She also has an account from forever ago before we got married that she gets a certain percentage of her paycheck into for "play" money. I am on her account, but don't have a debit card. No need for it. I don't have a second account.

My wife and I have separate accounts at the same bank. They're linked together though so we can see them both on one login. If I run low on money, I transfer from her account. If she runs low on money, she transfers from mine.

Seems to work well.

Joint checking where we manage family finance and pay all the bills. Each of us have our own saving account for a little bit of "play" money but nothing big there. We give each other "heads up" when we make purchase that's larger than $200. System has been working well.
She scolded me our first Valentine after we got married and I got her flowers. She said that's not needed anymore since that's money she can put toward her shopping so now she'll pick out presents she likes for V-day, B-day, Xmas etc and "we" pay for it. Yeah, not very romantic but it's practical...works for me.

Joint everything

My wife and I make good decisions with money and don't make large purchases without consulting the other first -- not for permission but because we share resources.

So I understand joint everything, but in that context, are we talking 1 checking and 1 savings at the same bank, or do you spread it out across a few different accounts and/or banks?

1 checking at 1 bank, 1 MMA at another bank, 1 shared brokerage account
We each have our own retirement accounts from our employers

Not married yet, though we have been living together for a number of years, pretty close to "common law married" ...

Me: Checking account, Brokerage/Stock holdings, 401K, 2 Credit cards
Her: checking account (its been suspended though, she isnt working, and gave whatever she had in there to her mom) , 1 credit card (my card, but got her added to it so she could buy gas and groceries and spend my money when I am at work.)

I pay all the bills & mortgage.
She is smart with spending, usually finds coupons, buys garage sale stuff, etc.

Main checking at a credit union, with a savings account there only to maintain some perks. Used for online bill pay and mobile check deposit.

Secondary checking at a bank that's close to home so we can get a safe deposit box (credit union does not have SD boxes). Also a savings account there to eliminate fees and get free wire transfers. It's a very old account at a smaller regional bank so they will bend the rules for us sometimes (for example, if I want a check cashed, they won't put a hold on my checking balance until it clears, and if I'm in a hurry and the line is long, I can go over to one of the people at a desk and they will walk it over to a teller to get whatever it is done).

Main savings at Ally for higher interest.

So life could be a little bit simpler with one bank, but we use multiple places for reasons that benefit us. Since I download all transactions into Quicken, it's pretty painless to maintain/reconcile any number of accounts.

We both have Google Wallet cards that we send money back and forth to, which are both tied to our joint bank account.

We each have our own savings and checking account, along with a joint checking account which is pretty much only used to pay the mortgage. We each have assigned bills to pay and are responsible for our own credit cards.
