So far, 80% of the pics I've seen contain a 15" CRT and at least 3 spools of CD-Rs.

ATOT is a bunch of cheap-ass pirates!

Can you tell us why you need 2 monitors? I guess because you have 2 separate systems, but still, what do you do that requires you to have 2 separate systems? Are you in programming?

yomicron: I have the mouse that's on your laptop. I wanna get a mx510 though, maybe if there's a sale tomorrow, otherwise I'll newegg it.

I'll take a pic of my workstation tomorrow, I have to organize it anyways (recepits from the past 2 weeks all over the place..)

Dual-monitor setups aren't uncommon at all. I'm considering it myself.

All right, here they are:

First, my workbook (workplace notebook, that is) in the hotel room during my trip to Shanghai, playing Pulp Fiction from the iPod via USB1.1 (of course it works fine).
Workbook in hotel

Now, here's the home rig (my Greenhouse Goblin).

Front view. From left: el cheapo casing and CPU on left; iPod charging beside the drink can; Apacer CompactFlash USB reader on the desk; Altec Lansing left speaker; BenQ keyboard, MAG 17" CRT, with Canon S200SPx bubblejet printer sitting comfortably atop it (hey, limited space); Altec Lansing right speaker; Logitech 2x optical wheel mouse; Aztec DSL modem partially hidden behind the stationery basket.

[/url]

Side view. From left: TV antenna for my tuner card; CPU case (note side intake has a fan installed, cannibalised from an old Pentium-133 rig), front door open showing drive slots; the rest as above; wall socket (L to R) has phone jack for DSL, iPhod charger, Altec Lansing power plug, DSL modem power plug, charger for my Siemens CX65 mobile

My mess!!!

Yeah, I know....a mess.....but the desk, while looking rather "ugly" is actually solid walnut and has an inlaid leather top. It just need a good refinishing one day. (Sigh...another project to do "one day".....)

Can you tell us why you need 2 monitors? I guess because you have 2 separate systems, but still, what do you do that requires you to have 2 separate systems? Are you in programming?

The dual monitors come in handy when I am using Photoshop, and I have multiple large images on the screen. Also, they come in handy for web page design, I use Dreamweaver 3 right now so I just spread it all out across two screens, and also having the web page on one screen and Fireworks (or Photoshop as the case may be) on the other is handy.

As far as general use I don't like minimizing things to the tray so usually I have my main task (games, webpage, essay, Photoshop, etc.) on the LCD and all the other crap (IM, Outlook, music match, explorer, etc.) on the CRT.

FYI, for most of the time I use both monitors for one computer. I then use a KVM switch so I can control the second computer and use the CRT to monitor it. Also the fugly beige box is my main system, the gray box happens to be my home?s Linux server, which I occasionally need to monitor and work on directly; so I just set it up beneath my desk.

And oddly enough, I only program occasionally, and I use VB6, so really that?s just when I need some small program to fix a problem I have.
