What else should I check?

Ok, I just installed my second Giga-byte 7VRXP and it seems to running the way it is supposed to. So far I've turned on the computer multiple times, played counterstrike for about half an hour, and run 3dmark2001 twice without a hitch. The 3dmark2001 score was 9302 (AMD Athlon 1800+, Samsung PC2700 512MB RAM, Gainward GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB). What other tests should I run to make sure that I'm not jumping the gun and thinking that everything is ok when it might not be? I'm still a little skeptical since my first 7VRXP was so messed up. I really don't want to start celebrating until I know everything is ok (this is my first computer build....errr, actually the second, but I had to send back the first motherboard, so I think this still counts as the first ). If your computer is stable in windows and all the devices seem to be working, then everything should be fine, as far as I know. Maybe you should check real quick to make sure all your stuff like modems, sound cards (you should already have checked that from Counter-strike), etc works.

By the way, what problems did you have with your first 7VRXP? I am wondering because I am getting one for my new computer (Actually, I got one, found that it refused to display video AT ALL, RMAd it, and am waiting for the new one). Also, what revision was it?

Thanks mr. chaotica. My first problem with the 7VRXP was that my system would continually lockup when I flipped the FSB switch so that my processor would run at the correct clock speed (1.53 Ghz). If you do a search on this forum for "salz" as the autor, you'll find a thread that is called "Help with AMD Athlon 1800". This thread covers in great detail everything that has gone wrong and eventually narrows the problem down to the motherboard. That motherboard was the 1.1 revision.

Hey, I just read some of your other threads concerning the 7VRXP... that was quite an ordeal! I think I am lucky that mine didn't POST at all (I had less troubleshooting to do : ) ) Congratulations that it finally works! I didn't realize until now that the 7VRXP had that many problems; if I did I might not have gotten it. Hopfully my new one will work as well... wish me luck.
