LCD gives a more precise picture anyway, the market has left tubes to rot...

I don't know about you, but I don't move my TV around very often.

you still gotta set it in the right place to begin with . i'm just trying to be an ass

the 65" projection TV we bought a few a few years back had wheels under it and the delivery men from fry's used these suction cup things to move it. they stuck the cups to the side of the box and pulled it...it was pretty interesting seeing it the first time

BestBuy used to sell them about a year ago (the 30" Samsung). I doubt they were very popular because they still weighed a ton and the resolution wasn't exactly the best.

Dirty cheap LCDs happened. The price went through the floor. 22" monitors for ~$250, 37" LCD TVs for $600......CRTs may have better image quality, but most average consumers are willing to overlook that fact for a thinner, lighter panel.

better image quality in some respects, usually contrast for the black levels...however flicker, interlacing, images that aren't pixel perfect...

huge, heavy, hot, power hungry... LCDs and plasmas you can pretty much put anywhere - even mount them to your ceiling.

I think I'd rather have a CRT for HDTV based on what funboy says. You don't get crappy image quality from scaling the picture up or down like you do with an LCD.

No question that tubes offer a better image and last 10 times longer, the 34" wide HD sony is still and awesome tv
