What exactly is (Superbit Collection)?

I was looking to pre-order the Spiderman 2 DVD, but there is a version labeled (Superbit Collection). What does this exactly mean?

superbit titles are "generally" better video quality. They "generally" use the entire disc for the video/sound portion instead of trying to sqeeze tons of stuff onto the disk.

Basically, when video is encoded and compressed for dvd you follow a bit budget based on what is included on the disc (audio tracks, subs, bonus, motion menus, etc). The more crap they want to cram on the disc, the lower bitrate you can run the feature video so it will fit. Superbit just lets removes the bloat so the video can be encoded at a higher bit rate so it will look better.

So the video and audio quality is better, but no special features... what a dilemma haha. Which to buy?

guess it just depends on how important special features are to you. Do you actually watch them? Or a better solution...buy both!

they tend to be higher quality.but they shaft u on the special features. being that they could simply put it on a 2nd disc like other companies do.... its just marketing hype.
