Need a router with a power switch -- going to use it as a wireless AP since I'm happy with my router, don't need 24/7 wifi. Why the hell is it so hard to find one that isn't super expensive?

I know someone in IT/development who has to log-in at 6 am in the mornings often to check an important service/server at work. However, she's an idiot and does it from home, relies on a single residential-grade internet connection, no back-up plan -- unless you count yelling at everyone "OMFG, F*ck you, why doesn't the internet work, I need it for work, OMG". She's mid-30s.

from what I gather, there's a broken cable somewhere in the midwest that's preventing us from reaching servers in our west coast data center (which isn't a mission critical issue since that's all just disaster recovery stuff, but the big project I've been working on for the last couple weeks is building out one of the DR storage arrays)
I don't know if anyone actually cares, but it's a valid point.If a single point of failure is preventing access, it is pretty poorly designed IMO. Unless the datacenter itself is having problems, I'd bring this up as a pretty major issue.
