What first world problem did you have today?

We ate out at a Persian restaurant last night. The servings were so huge we had to buy a new cooler to bring the leftovers home. Whenever someone orders the Tour of Persia dinner, food riots break out in Bangladesh.

Don't think I've had Persian stuff before -- stuff I've seen on TV looks good. I did go to a Middle Eastern buffet once. It didn't suck, I kind of liked it, but it was so different from every other buffet I'd been to. Lots of cold dishes and spices I had never tasted before.

The food was great though, definitely on the "will go back" list". The leftovers filled two large styrofoam boxes plus a small one.

Some fuckwit decided to use the ISP provided email address as his primary. He moved out of that place (if you count getting married and buying a house but returning daily to eat/shower "moving out") and now the service, $70/month, has to be maintained despite there being a cheaper, second internet service in place.

I feel like I'm missing key parts of this story . . . like why this family member had an extra 6 gallons of milk in the first place, why she bought so much if she knew she didn't have room for it all herself, plus why you feel obligated to drink it all if you're lactose intolerant?



Did she run into a BOG6 sale on milk somewhere? Of did she happen to rescue a herd of Christian Cows from the MDC (Muslim Dairy Cowliphate)?



Just how many kids does she have (I'm assuming there are kids involved)?



And finally, do you hide the deep shame of your obviously unmanly inability to process dairy from . . . your family?

I've still only had one bowl of cereal and it has been a week, so I'm not exactly gulping this stuff down. I just knew that I was not going to hear the end of it if I didn't at least try to use some of what didn't fit in the freezer.

It was actually 12 half gallons of 2% she dumped on us right after we bought our own two gallons of 1%. They were $0.99ea and her hoarder instinct kicked in. No kids. The Halal processing place down the street from her seems to no longer have their own livestock, so you may be on to something.

I've never shied away from foods that disagree with me because nearly anything can similarly upset my IBS, so why bother? I'm not diagnosed lactose intolerant or IBS but that has more to do with not going to a doctor about it.

Wildfires have blanketed the city in a haze of smoke, which makes everything look like something out of a fever dream. It's all yellow and orange and surreal, and it smells like the world's biggest barbecue. Which, come to think of it, is actually not a problem; it's pretty cool. And it's keeping the forecasted 95+ temperature from materializing, so that's another plus. So hooray for wildfires!

It wasn't quite that bad. I'm generally non-commital unless there's a real dilemma, and I have a distinct preference. I didn't say anything one way or the other. I would have vetoed Applebees, but she really seemed set on it, and I also hadn't been there in awhile. Turns out absence doesn't always make the heart grow fonder :^D

Dropped my pen cap, not sure why, but it hit my chair, bounced off the cushy material and hit the floor and then my power bar cord. Had to wash my pen cap... Very upsetting.

That and my new OOMA can't call internationally. Trying to figure it out while the other side of the world is sleeping. Think I got an idea on what to do.
