Okay, done.

I was on hold for about 35 minutes, call lasted 45 minutes total, but the cancellation should have been cancelled. Now I have to call again tomorrow to make sure it was done properly or we lose our number the day after... and end up calling/contacting dozens of companies/friends to change our contact number.

My two starting fantasy RBs (CJ Anderson and Andre Ellington) look like they are injured in the first game of the season...

I want to buy a new oil lantern, and I can't decide what finish I want. Zinc plate is kind of nice looking, and $10 cheaper, but I really like the look of the green painted model. I've opened the page five times today intending to buy, and put it off til later. I need to get on it, cause I want to get one as an Xmas gift for my daughter if they're nice.

No stainless steel option? No need to worry about anything flaking off. Not sure about rust despite being stainless due to heat.

There's brass lamps on the site, but fairly spendy. I like this particular lamp cause it's petite(10"x5"), and I like the traditional hurricane design. I have some old Dietz lanterns, but they're all on the large side.

I got it in my head cause I saw a crappy Chinese lamp at Walmart, and looked to see if any were still made in America. Some of the lamps are, but the ones I'm looking at are German.

True story: I missed my stop on the subway last week because I was too engrossed in reading ATOT to notice the train stopping at my station, so I had to walk extra distance in to work.

Really want an electric kettle, but I've only made coffee or tea once in like two months.

Also, really want a new cast iron wok, but am too lazy to research a good one to buy.

Just curious, what are you doing with an oil lantern? Survival related? Nostalgia/collector's item?

If you want an alternative China-made (most likely) item for pocket change:

I like flame light, especially in the winter. The color of the light, and the spots of warmth are attractive. I'd light with oil year round if it weren't so hot. Lamps put out a lot of heat, which is great in the winter, but not so great in summer time.

Emergency preparedness is secondary. I'm never without light when the power goes down. I probably have 2 years of flame light saved up between candles, lamp oil, and kerosene.

Those tea light holders are neat. Not really my style, but they'd be nice for garden parties, and cheap enough to spread around.

Trying to decide if I should pay $250 to renew my professional license or not. It's a very pretty acronym to put after my name, but I have no plans to ever use it again... And I can still put on my resume that I was licensed, can get it back anytime. Only reason to get now is to e-peen.

And if I'm desperate, I can put my master's degree acronym after my name...

consider getting a dispensing pot like this one.

It holds a gallon of water at a time (4L) and you can set it to turn on automatically if you don't want to keep it running all of the time. Because it uses a vacuum enclosure, it's pretty efficient. It will also dispense on backup power if disconnected and uses a magnetic coupling for the power cord.

There are cheaper models (this one looks like it's discontinued) but most will have similar features - just maybe not vacuum design or power backup.

I like it because it's tall enough to fit a number 2 melitta cone and coffee cup under the nozzle and I don't have to worry about filling it multiple times per day.

No such computer.

If it has a regular HDD, it's not an rMBP, just an MBP. Have fun with the 1280x800 TFT screen.

I just saw 499GB available and assumed it was the normal HDD one. Just checked and it is an SSD! 3.0ghz i7 with the 512GB SSD. Still a downgrade from my home 15" rMBP. =(

...We have one of those pots. Nowhere near as advanced. It's on 24/7, uses about 35 watts to keep warm, a hundreds to boil. Insulation is pretty crappy since the exterior gets pretty warm.

New problem: I need a new printer. Decided to turn in my license to save $250 a year because I can get it back anytime if I bend over for an additional $250 fee. Unfortunately, I need to print a form out and my 7 year old printer is out of ink. New ones are all-in-one for $40 on sale. Black ink alone for current printer would set me back $20.

No thanks. That doesn't look sleek and futuristic enough (and I never need 4L of 190F water).

My first world problem is that I am more attracted to smackababy's computer than I am to my GF.

Rough day.

Instant hot water can spoil you. We had a hot tap before, and plan on one again when we remodel kitchen. 192F makes Ramen, tea, rinses knives, lots of uses.

My favorites menu drop down sometimes has the stuff I want on the left instead of the right.
