I almost never go to McD but I stopped in today and somehow ended up paying >$7 for my fish sandwich. Apparently, if you don't specify, they assume you want the "meal" option which includes soda and fries. I really don't see how they have the cajones to charge that much for postage stamp sized sandwich, fries and sugar water.

The price of the Filet-o-Fish seems to vary greatly from McD's to McD's in my area.

The sausage McGriddle too. One McD's charges $1.19 for it (used to be $1), and another charges something like $3.75 for it!

I have a free cruise on NCL from my casino.

I wanna goto western carribbean/mexico during the summer.
ncl has cruises there during that time but for my certificate, july/aug is blacked out.

so I'm 'forced' to cruise at a destination I don't want

It's a beautiful 29 C and I want to go out to dump by trash off but then I'll wreck my shirt with sweat and have to do the laundry...

"This is a test of our new employee alert system. Please respond using one of the following:"

The "reply to all" storm has begun.
We've got a single dedicated email address that automatically sends the message to everybody in the company. It's a built-in Reply To All.

Interestingly, it's never abused. It's mostly just congratulatory/cheerleading type things. "Yay, we're so awesome!" and that sort of thing, repeated over and over by those who really want to be heard.

Some jackass at the store sloppily opened up a package of cheapo mac & cheese and cut into an individual box -- you could barely see the dried macaroni if you pressed down on the cut. I ended up buying this box and didn't notice until I went to eat it. Didn't feel like throwing it out so still ate it. Hope it was idiocy and not malicious... Am I dedz?

I don't know if this is a Kentucky or a south thing...but I swear better than half the people I work with go by something *OTHER* than their first name. And then you mix that with Exchange Admins that have absolutely no consistency in the way they manage the address book and it's just a nightmare.

I was working with a guy who we'll refer to as "Bob". That's what he called him self. I figured out his last name which we'll say is "Smith". Somebody wanted his contact info so they could email him.

Go into outlook and look for Bob Smith. Can't find him. Look under last names smith with a first name of Robert. Can't find him. Look under any name of "Smith" with a title that matches him. Can't find him.

Found another communication that his real name was Steve. Ok. So now I look for any last name of Smith with a first couple letters of "Ste". Nothing..

DAFUQ?

So I just finally do a search in my inbox of of over 5000 messages for anything referring to "Bob Smith". Found one message out of several hundred that looked promising. He happened to be copied on a message. What was his email address?

bob.steve@workdomain.com

THANKS LOT! MUCH HELP!

Fired up the swamp cooler today. So this is a 3rd world problem in the first world.

It goes through about 2.5 gallons of water in a couple of hours so I have to have 2 big 2.5 gallon containers to rotate in and out. Of course I only have to walk to the kitchen and not a well 3 miles from my mud hut, but still. Carrying water? So sad. So very sad.

Well, I shit my brains out this evening. Not sure if it was related due to the passage of only ~10 hours since the meal.

It's not stupid. It's all part of it's grand plan to kill you. It's luring you into a false sense of confindence that by running around at your feet it's just playing. But it's not. Because one day, you're going to be at the top of some stairs and it's going to be doing it's thing, you're going to trip, fall down the stairs and break your neck. As you look back up at the cat and your vision slowly fads to black, you will see it licking it's paws and smiling.

Normal transit time I think is 12 hours but there is a lot of variability between people so I'm going to guess that you probably got a nice dose of listeria. It's just not worth it to play russian roulette with your food.

The fury fucker tries to do that on the stairs too! He gets in front of me and lays on the stairs and licks himself while I'm trying to go down. Pisses me off. Not a care in the world.

Heh. We do accounts based upon AD name and then give aliases for full name translation in email. Normally the AD name is first letter of first name, middle initial, and then first two letters of last name and then some cryptic number scheme at the end that I have yet to understand.

So in the case of Steven Robert Smith it would be something like srsm123@work.com

But for whatever reason some poor woman I know with the first name starting with "T" and and the last name of Watt was given the account "Twatt@work.com". Some admin was just being an asshole there.

dried pasta doesn't really go bad and you boil the shit out of it, which will kill anything

I doubt it was the mac and cheese

I'm heading home for my nephew's high school graduation this weekend and to see my new niece. But the weather there is awful, so i'm leaving 68F weather on the CA central coast to drive 6 hours and spend the weekend in the central valley with a high of 98F

Want to play skyward sword but I guess my remote isn't "good" enough for Zelda. Bitch expects me to fork out $40 for a new one.

Rescheduled my work day to make room for a phone interview for a new job. Call never came. Checked my email and a new calendar invite for tomorrow had been sent about an hour before the call and was in the spam filter. So now I need to reshift my day again tomorrow to try and sneak that call in.

Please don't. These things are dirt cheap at Goodwill. I ended up with something like 40+ standard remotes by some time in 2008 after I resolved in 2007 not to buy any that were over $8 ($40 MSRP) and revised again not to buy any that were over $5. The VAST majority included sealed Wii Play and some even had the Nunchuk. Of course, that was before the Motion Plus, but the phenomenon continued with Wii Play Motion, Wii Party, and so on so I picked up more than enough Motion Plus-capable remotes too.

It turns out that most people had no idea how to pair them and assumed that they were broken. The controller they already had was paired right out of the box, so this trips up more people than you'd think. Retailers would exchange the remote with a new copy of Wii Play, damage out the copy, and then donate it to thrift stores with the "defective" remote.

Also, you can buy the Motion Plus adapter for older remotes. The integrated Motion Plus remote only became standard after Nintendo started bundling them. Hit up GameStop for a used Motion Plus adapter before you consider spending $40!

My copy of Skyward Sword actually came with a gold Motion Plus-capable Wii Remote.

Could get a MotionPlus adapter...or just skip that game.

My copy of the game included a gold Wii remote that had built-in MotionPlus.

My friends played through my copy of the game and told me it was just bad/forgettable, so I never bothered playing after the first dungeon.

Ugh I missed out on the gold remote. Wish I got in on that so bad. It's too expensive on ebay for my tastes. Even when I'm willing to settle for a grungy black one with motion plus at the thrift shop in town they still want $30 for it. Forget it.

I looked this up recently and it apparently takes ~10 hours just for food to get past your small intestines. On average, transit time is something like 24 to 48 hours, averaging mid-30s? That's crazy.

And I also looked up food poisoning times. Only a few viruses/bacteria have incubation periods around ~10 hours. Some apparently take days so my impression is that it's really hard to figure out exactly what caused a mass exodus...

Oh, they're raiding a bunch of marijuana "dispensaries" in my ville. I got at least two within walking distance, one just a few blocks away. They all popped up over the past few months due to impending legalization a year away. Looks like they jumped the gun. Where will I imagine buying pot I don't smoke now?

Staph based food poisoning can get you blowing out both ends in under an hour. It's one fast acting bastard.
