Possibly -- homeless and OCD.

Otherwise, the idea is to be mobile and never be tied down.

Frees up a lot of options for sure. I have so much crap I don't need now, but there's little that pisses me more than needing something I got rid of last month. I compromised by not getting as much new crap as I used to. Don't really need much anymore.

My cat's pestering the hell out of me. Her bowl has a bald spot in it, so naturally that means she's on the verge of starving to death. I messed up my back yesterday, so it's hard getting food in her bowl, and I want to put it off til tomorrow, when my back will hopefully be a bit better.

I went outside on a hot as hell day to get something at a store because their online stock-check said it was available... Looked all over the entire store, more importantly, it wasn't where I saw it last time in its section.

Edit: Now I'm trying to order it online and am not sure if I should pay $4 for shipping or find some other useless shit to buy to get free shipping...

My cat is the same way. Drop 2 pieces of Meow Mix and... "Meow? You filled it!"

Super Gator Gamez closed down yesterday. In barely a month all three of the closest indie/retro game stores have closed down with zero warning. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!

I bought a new set of poverty AA batteries and they're still not charged after 3 hours and I don't trust the charge termination thing. My lithium-ions would have finished a while ago. At least I don't have to worry about being exploded? But they could leak...

But think of all the money you saved!

Now that is summer, my neighborhood is being blanketed over and over by one ice cream truck. The truck looks like it's from the 1960s and it only plays one song - Yankee Doodle - out of speakers that make it sound both ear piercing and out of tune. I cannot get that damn song out of my head and I hear him driving around multiple times per week.

Wow. I no canna believe what I just went through to try to get an old piece of hardware and software running. I have this program called Neatworks that scans receipts. And while I can run the software under W7, the scanner it uses needs drivers that only work in XP.

So I had to create a virtual machine for the software. But that didn't work because it needed .NET 2 to function and it had to download that. Except I couldn't make an internet connection from the VM. So I had to uninstall VM Player and Kaspersky and then reinstall the VM, get the network connection working and then reinstall Kaspersky.

I finally get the software installed, the VM recognizes the drivers. But I still have to get XP activated. It's not even supported any more but can I dl a copy from MS that doesn't require activation - of course not. So then I have to do some registry editing and get that taken care of.

I'm almost afraid to try to scan anything since I'm sure something else will go wrong. And all of this was so I didn't have to buy a new scanner and software that is easier to use anyway. At some point I think these things just become a matter of pride.

Took about 8 hours to charge them, they were likely empty. From googling, they came out around 2010 -- wrapper had "09" stamped on. Then I realized they were listed as final clearance. Ugh, 7 year old batteries that were left with no charge for a long time and made in China? No signs of leaking but I'm not taking the risk. Got me some brand new made in Japan Eneloops...

bday gift is any drink for free, including customizing it.

forgot that Memorial day was the bday I registered with.
now the free bday drink has expired

Waited to see how low Twilight Princess with the Amibo would go for on Amazon before price matching but after trickling down a few cents every few minutes down to $35 it shot back up to $42 in an instant.

Pro tip...

If something works on xp, it probably works on 2kpro, and 2kpro doesn't require activation ;^)

That's a good point since the software seems to let me import image files but I've tried that in the past with other applications and it never really quite works as well. You either move the caera and get a bad pic, the focus is off, you get bright and dark areas that don't OCR well, etc. A scanner is really the best option especially when starting out with iffy source material like receipts.

Thanks. Not sure I have a license for 2k pro - are you saying I also don't need a license?

just checked. Looks like the oldest version I have a license for is Server 2003

My cat has been super bad for that latetly. i had to get her an automatic feeder that feeds 4 times per day in smaller amounts to try to curve her puking but she'll meow non stop until it turns over to next bowl then she sprints to it as if she did not eat for 10 days and gobbles it down.

I think I need to come up with a better solution, I'm thinking something that feeds continuously, but at a very slow rate. Like 10 pebbles per minute. So there will always be food, but it won't let her gobble it down too fast.

I had my feeder set to over feed so that after about a week or so, pellets would be overflowing. Once he/she gets the idea that there's always food in her bowl, she'll calm the fuck down - really, it works.

The only time it doesn't is if you have more than one cat. Then all bets are off.

You need a license, but it doesn't check online. If the key's a valid 2kpro key, it'll work anywhere.

I just watched Person of Interest's 100th episode again and feel really depressed.

Major character who got me to watch the show in the first place died.

And I decided to get rid of a few more things but they're dusty as hell. Gotta dust them off before hauling them 3 kilometers to give them away for free.

I replaced the 55" 4k LG tv in my bedroom with a 70" 4k Vizio....I moved the 55" into my home office room to replace a 40" 1080p Toshiba. The TVs are on the opposite sides of the same wall. Both TV's were fed from the same Direct Tv box (RF remotes are awesome), the bedroom via HDMI and Toshiba via component cables that were fished through the wall. I get the 55" LG in place and then discover that in order to use the component cables there is an adapter that is needed (no actual component inputs on the LG - you have to have 3.5mm adapter that plugs into the TV with the component inputs).

Guess I have to get a HDMI splitter to feed the LG...

In the interim, I connected the LG" to my PC with an DVI to HDMI cable (which runs a 970GTX and I use a Samsung 4k TV as my monitor via HDMI)...both are running at 2160p @ 60hz

I bought the LG TV at Best Buy that going out business and it was just the TV (no stand or remote...not sure if this adapter came with the TV if it was new)....
