I ran out of space on my DVR today but it's only a 500GB one. Gonna have to stick a 2TB drive in there tomorrow.
Looking into getting a ratchet and some sockets, finally, but there are too many choices. I just want like two sockets, too many sets with dozens of pieces!
Go to a flea market or pawn shop. If you just want some junk, HarborFreight sells small sets.
Tried to cancel an Amazon order less than 24 hours after ordering it on a weekend and they said they can't... Meanwhile, the package I ordered last weekend still hasn't arrived. And they usually take their sweet time shipping it so it takes the 4-8 days estimate for free shipping.
Edit: Completely forgot how series circuits work. Volts get added with batteries, do amps get added?
I hate how Amazon just holds on to stuff for no reason. I have a Greenlee DMM that I ordered, and it's just sitting there as "not yet shipped" with ETA in July. WHY?!!? Just freaking send it now! The actual shipping should only take a few days if it's coming from the states. It's listed as being sold by Amazon.
For circuits, series adds voltages, parallel adds current (and higher run time capacity with batteries). So two AA batteries in series will give you 3 volts and you'll be able to draw the same amount of amps from it but two AA in parallel will be 1.5 volts but you'll be able to draw more amps out of it, and it will be be able to run something twice as long.
how much do you order from Amazon? If it's just a couple of times per month, then given how long the delays are, you might be better off with Walmart or even Jet. But if it's at least once per week, Prime easily pays for itself several times over.Oh, there's a reason... I asked for "Free Shipping" with an estimated 5-8 days or whatever for the package to arrive, but they want me to pay for it to arrive in less than 5 days, or sign up for Prime so it'll arrive in two.
I did some more reading on series/parallel. So, with two batteries in series, the current between the batteries is the same as before and after? Haven't done this stuff since high school...

The cover/cap of my E160BY coffee grinder (Proctor Silex P/N 916000000) cracked. It is available as a replacement part for $14.36, ($9.11 + $5.45 s&h) or I can get a new (identical) coffee grinder on Amazon for ~$10, after I cash in another Bing Rewards $5 gift card code.
I don't really want to spend more money on less stuff, but I'm too liberal/green to want to throw away a perfectly good coffee grinder, when I can just buy the part I need instead. So... I'm torn. I may just say "screw it" and break out the epoxy.

That kind of stuff pisses me off. A *small* premium for buying individual parts is warranted, but some stuff ends up being 80%+ of the total product cost. What they're saying is that shitty piece of plastic you broke is 65% of the value of the whole. Motors? Semi precious metals? Fuck no! That plastic lid is the most valuable part :^S
