I bought a new USB volt/amp meter. I thought it was a piece of shit but it turned out that the USB 3.x A to micro-B cable for my external HDD was the piece of shit. It wouldn't power on when I plugged it in fully. Then I plugged in a half-dozen USB 2.x cables and even a USB 3.x flash drive and they were fine.

And I effed up and may have missed another Craigslist sale because I didn't answer back for 9 hours. People keep sending me shit at 9am... I don't check my email until noon.

CC I wouldn't worry as much, it's not my money being stolen. Only my bank account is linked to my PayPal -- it's my "trash" account with nothing much in it, but fraud protection is probably worse.

Hmm I should look into having a separate bank account for Paypal, actually. I never had any issues with Paypal myself but heard plenty of horror stories, like them honoring chargebacks for long over transactions etc.

Fuckers want a restocking fee for the TV that I never actually took possession of, signature was required yet it was just left at the door. Now I have to escalate with ebay and that's going to slow down restoring the paypal credit by a week, maybe two.
Is cursing in ebay feedback possible or does it censor/block expletives ?

If you used a credit card with PP rather than a bank account, do a chargeback with the CC company. card co's are much better at giving you immediate credit while they sort these things out - at least Citibank is.

The biggest thing is the lack of a sidebar, or other quicklink setup. I can live with the enormous amount of whitespace, but click, wait, scroll, click, wait is a pita; especially on a phone.

Yeah, that bites. In that case, the best thing to do is find a bank that allows you to keep a minimum balance in your primary acct but doesn't require it for your secondary. So say you have savings and 2 checking. The second checking can have zero balance with no fees.

Then, hook that one up to PP and suck dry after every ebay transaction. The bank will know your accts are linked but hopefully they're not going to do any unauthorized transfers just on PP's say so. Then PP can try to sue you if they have some dead beat buyer looking to get his money back after 6 months. Good luck with that. Unless you're selling gold ingots, you're basically judgment proof since the cost of doing anything legally will be prohibitive. Although I guess there's always the possibility that they have someone on retainer in every state just for such occasions..

I only signed up to PayPal around 2012, I think by that point they started tying bank accounts to PayPal accounts? Selling shit on Diablo III auction house. Nice $250 hustle.

What I really should do is close my PP account to reduce the risk, but I can see some near-future uses so am holding off. The account I linked has relatively little money but but enough that I'd be pissed about if it were drained.
