Bought Gran Turismo 5 dirt cheap from amazon.
Was forced to install it even though I didnt want to.
Found out its the EXACT SAME thing as Gran Turismo 6, just worse.
The UI sucks by comparison, upgrading cars is a hassle, and theres no online component or seasonal event thing any more cuz Sony sucks ass.
Other than that its the same game. Exact same courses, most of the same cars except they dont have the 200+ shitboxes in GT6, and slightly worse music.

I was at a college bookstore looking for something and went through the textbook shelves... Found a textbook or two that consisted of a 3-ring binder plus a shrink-wrapped stack of pages. Guess it's cheaper than doing a "proper" binding job.

But hey, the new versions of my old engineering textbooks now seem to be averaging $200. Mines only averaged $130-ish a decade ago.

It is October now and the temperature is still in the high 80s and low 90s during the day. Still too freaking hot here. Come on cooler weather.

Hurricane watches went up for my area just a few minutes ago. I sent my professors an email explaining that I might be without utilities and internet afterwards so we'll see. I've gotta go fill up the car this morning and run a few errands today. I'm presently backing up all of my classwork onto my laptop and tablet just in case I have to use them from another location instead of my desktop.

I rent. Parking is outdoors in a lot. Management sent out a notice last week that new parking space lines were going to be painted, so everyone needed to move their cars. Side note, I signed up for electronic notification via email since I'm not home to check my paper mail all the time, but most people just do the snail mail version. The day came, everyone moved their cars, but the painters didn't make it to our lot (there are like a dozen lots). Management re-sent out a notice with a new date, but they sent it like the day before, so if you weren't on email & didn't check your mail before you left to know there was a paint date update and left your car in the lot...you got towed. They had half a dozen tow trucks towing people. My neighbors are LIVID. Someone's head is going to roll in the rental office

We didn't get the outage we wanted because the guys over at the LNG plant where the high side breaker is located couldn't get the thing racked out/removed because it's probably been about 40 years since they've touched it. Therefore we aren't able to get a sample of the transformer oil on our site here to see if it has PCB's or not .... so the sample guys are just sitting on the site right now twiddling their thumbs watching the dollar signs increase.

Damned county employees....need to sue some idiot across the state line so I call that county magistrate..."Yep, that's ours. Please send $79."

I get a notice from the marshals office...Non service. Call the marshal, "That's Burke county, not us."

Call Richmond magistrate back, "It's not out job to figure out which county that person is in. The marshal does that." So why did you tell me it was yours and can I have my $79 back? "Nope and enjoy your fucking."

So I get to spend $99 to file papers in Burke county. I'll be charging that against the customer's balance too. Let the fucking roll down hill.

Total fucktard decided to rummage through my food with his post dumpster diving, unwashed hands. Idiot opened up my box of knock-off Kraft Dinner thinking it was ready to eat. After pulling the soup pouch out and stuffing it back in, he decided to go through my bag of cereal. Because seeing a picture of macaroni and hearing dry macaroni shaking around the box didn't make it obvious it wasn't a ready-made meal.

MS released an update that knocked out Canon printers corporate wide. It's been 18 hours w/o printing.

This is a fucking Fortune500 company for gods sake, and we can't fucking print anything.

I can't decide if that's incredibly stupid or if it's a wink and a nod to students saying 'steal this book.' I mean what idiot is going to pay for that when they can just give a friend who has a copy $5 bucks to photo copy it. Put 3 hole punch paper in the copier and boom. The only way that works is if it costs more to steal it than buy it outright.

Is the book publishing industry as zealous as the record industry?

When I was finishing up my graduate studies, the professors were telling us how publishers were starting to ride their asses about copyright violations -- like even photocopying a few pages.

Oh, I just remembered. The real kicker was a soft-covered book that I used back in undergrad and saw in the bookstore. It was like $100 new. Seriously? Pretty sure I paid less a decade ago. And I just looked it up on Amazon... $100 for a physical copy and $32 on Kindle.

Accounting books are smart now, now they have CD's that are required for classes, and the CD's have 1 time use codes. So you can buy a used book, but you won't have access to the online component that classes are using.

I recall having to spend thousands on books in college, some of which barely got used. The major issue with text books or pretty much any "information" books is that they go out of date so fast, so even outside of college they are pretty much useless after the fact. I ended up recycling all my books because there was no where to sell them, and the information in them did not apply anymore. Cisco books for example, based on a specific IOS version that is long obsolete. Though, I probably should have kept them, just for nostalgia purposes. That was an expensive recycling bin haul to the street.

My YouTube channel got like a 20% increase in traffic since I changed the name. It was something stupid and I would have punched someone with that name... Think I had the dumb name because Google Plus used to require "real" (sounding) names. Missed out on that sweet dollars.

Oh right I remember when Google kept bothering me to use my real name. Every second video I tried to watch it would prompt me. Drove me nuts enough that I finally did it.. .then it signed me up for google+. Fuck you Google. Now everything I upload or comments I post get broadcasted who knows where to random people I know. G+ is weird in that it already knows who your IRL friends are and just adds them by default. It's not like FB where you have to accept.

When YouTube came out I created my name to be Agentcapture. Loved my user name until that G+ crap. I swear, if the webpage isn't crap, your channel isn't crap, but they ripped your user name off as well. Google has absolutely destroyed YouTube. They should have never sold out.
