Went to the CSR desk at the local Kroger for a task and the clerk was an a**hole so I drove 15 minutes to another Kroger and the CSR desk closed 1 hour early (just because they could) so I had to stop by WalMart but was only able to do 1/2 of my task.

What do you buy at the desk?

Pay bills of my clients/business. Kroger is faster to post than Walmart.

The clerk at the first Kroger was clueless and I was tired so I did not want to ask for the manager. I thought I had over 1-hour window before closing time for the 2nd Kroger but it closed for no reason. And while I was driving, multiple cars cut me off. What a day.

I had to learn to be patient if being told that the Lego Saturn V Apollo kit that came out yesterday was sold out. The store I went to had gotten 24 units and sold every one of them in less than two hours. I was surprised because the Saturn V and Apollo was during my generation, but then the salesperson, about ten years younger than me, said all but two units were sold to people his age. I guess the wife and I are not the only people born in the 60's reliving our youths.

Sorry. That's boring. No oxy or anything.

Oxy? You mean prescription drugs? I am not sure you can get them at the CSR desk at a large grocery chain store. But again, I never use any drug, legal or not, in my life so what do I know.

That's boring. Not judging or anything but I'm Perk's age...minus 10.

Earning money by doing work for clients/my business on the side is boring for sure and not fun but no extra work = no extra money. I am not a well hung Playboy with multi-million dollars in the banks as a typical internet guy/ATOTer so up to work I go.

At least my clients are not as strange as yours.

They pay me promptly and on time without complaint. Can't beat that. Maybe because I did not charge them 150% interest per month?

lol I would not trade mine. Granted they'll probably bankrupt me at the end of the day but they're still family.

150%..that's it? How do you feed your children?

My inodes are taking too long to write. 1000/16000 to go. Could be a while.

Seriously though my NFS setup is dog slow, I never really figured out where the bottleneck is. Come to think of it that was the reason I went with vmware and not Qemu/KVM. The disk I/O was even slower in that implementation and I could not figure out why. It would take like 5 hours to install an OS. I do want to revisit it at some point as I'd like to be on a fully open source environment, and ideally have a client that will run natively in Linux. For Vmware I need to have a local VM just so I can use the Vmware client.

10k/16k done. I don't think this is going to finish by the end of my shift.

I should probably be working on another project right now but got carried away with a home server installation.

My Roomba knockoff (iLife) has been sitting broken for a couple weeks. It would charge, but wouldn't respond to the button on top. Even tried the included remote, nothing. Finally took a minute to google some troubleshooting procedures. Came across a Youtube video with a bunch of fixes. The second fix suggestion was to turn the power switch on.

Turns out there's a separate power switch on the side of the robot.

I am an idiot.

Not today but over the last week I discovered I am doing quite poorly in school and I've also been shot down for many jobs. Not really sure what I'm gonna do with my life or if I'll even have a life.
Its a first world problem because many other people dont even have access to college or jobs or even drinkable water, much less a place to live and internet connection.

School fucked up my appointment so I have to drive back again this afternoon. On the way home almost got killed by a nutjob (possibly redneck) in a white Ford Bronco. Stopped off at 7-11 to soothe my nerves with some ice cream. Got home and found it tastes awful. Realized they let it melt and then refroze the stuff.
For those of you who dont know, that ruins ice cream. Taste like crap afterward and cant be recovered.

If I dont get a job soon I seriously think I'm just gonna give up and start using crack.

Walked into the storage room in the basement to a large puddle of water, directly underneath our kitchen sink. It wasn't a flood, but the concrete floor had a huge puddle and it was getting larger.

Some quick troubleshooting above led me to find a broken O ring on our faucet where the braided hose screws onto the handle. Luckily, I have a large selection of O rings, courtesy of Harbor Freight, and was able to fix it quickly, and then clean up the mess afterwards. Best part of it was when my teenage son said he noticed the water the day before, but since it was just a small puddle, he didn't want to bother us by it.
/smh....

It has been raining on and off (not heavy, just steady when it rained) for the last few days so no car washing and no laundry done for my large items.

More bullshit.
Went back to the college this afternoon, found out my advisor couldnt help me and I had to see admissions. Admissions could not help me directly, told me I had to go online to fix the issues.
If that school wasnt filled with ignorant, incompetent people I could have done everything I needed at home before 9AM and not spent 10 bucks on parking and probably 6 bucks on gasoline and risked my life during both morning and afternoon rush hour.

Fuck the fucking fuckers.
