I tried to voice my complaint on a slightly well-known forum about my travails trying to get four plane tickets using points an credits, only to get the reply, "this should be in first world problems."

Ordered a phone off amazon, supposed to be two day prime shipping. It was delayed for whatever reason and it didn't make it on time for my buddy to bring it over to me on the weekend. So my birthday present to myself is late. Now I have to wait another two week until my buddy comes here again

My landline wasn't receiving incoming calls and the calls would go to voicemail exactly as if the line was disconnected. There was a dial tone and I could make calls. I scheduled a service visit. When crap like this has happened in the past, it usually meant a software glitch and reset somewhere upstream. The phone company, I'll call them CentruryLink, cancelled the service visit without fixing the problem and w/o telling me. When I checked the repair ticket, it was closed a half hour after it was opened with no action. For the second attempt, I called instead of using the online scheduler figuring that I could at least be rude to some poor schmuck. They sent a tech this time who said everything was hunkydori. Yet, still no incoming calls.

I keep the ringer on the phone turned off and let the answering machine handle calls. I finally figured out that CenturyLink had changed the default number of rings before going to voicemail to three. My answering machine is set to pick up after the second ring. But… with these newfangled digitalized phone systems, the ring is generated separately for the the caller and the receiver. So, the caller hears three rings before the receiver hears two and it's off to voicemail, which I never set up. I found a setting online to change the number of rings before going to voicemail to eight and now I can receive and ignore calls again.

I hate when that happens. Saw a bear at camp last year and my good camera was in the car, the bear was between me and the car, so I could not easily get to the car without it going away.

But then it came back, and I was prepared!

Just a little guy.

I know... some unknown Chinese brand?

Honor 8. I kill phones too often to buy expensive ones. My Nokia Lumia 521 died, so I switched to an old Note 2, that died too, so I buy new phone.

probably shouldn't have bought a glass back phone lulz. but I already got a gaudy orange and black case for it.

At work infecting the office?

I got a hummingbird last night, but the little fucker used the port on the opposite side of the feeder so I couldn't look at him. They always do that shit. My last feeder which I broke had decent sized port holes, so I stuck a golf tee in the one opposite the window. The new feeder has flush mounted ports with slats across the holes. I might tape it, but that'll probably get messy when it starts getting hot.

So do you have the maximum limit? Or whatever you feel like it? This article says it is 400% per year - https://www.consumerfinance.gov/askcfpb/1567/what-payday-loan.html

And people say credit card APRs are high.
I do installment loans, not the payday. They are 390%APR here but keep in mind that it's a 2 week loan. Borrow $300, owe $390 in 2 weeks. Anyway, the rest of us can charge whatever % we post on the wall and report to the state. I'll do 4 to 15 month installments loans, typically 35%-ish.

I've got one, assuming female because of the color. I say one because she sits and feeds for a long time and no other bombing her. I need to sit out and look for her nest.

I turned the hook holding the feeder to 45 degrees and get a good view.

Wanted to play KSP but game keeps crashing. Deleted it and redownloading now. I find after a while it starts to get sloppy anyway, good to do a full reinstall once in a while.

I fucking hate the project I'm currently on. Thankfully it's going to end but we just hit go-live so I'm likely going to be going in on the weekend and working shit hours.

Knowing I'm almost done though I keep singing to myself "It's the final countdown!"

It's part of the reason I like my job though... if one project sucks there is no need to worry, there will be another one that sucks even worse to break the record and amaze you. But not really, most aren't as bad as this one.

The street in front of my office has been blocked for 2 days to re-pave. Damned phone rang more that usual. I did not get my regular nap.

Bitches.

I hate neighbors. I'm in suburbia where the houses only have about 15ft between them - on one side is a dog that barks before 8am every single day including weekends because the owners are inconsiderate douches (spoken to them and left them notes).

Most everyone has a landscaper, so every day since I work from home I hear commercial-grade leafblowers droning on and on. Ridiculously annoying. No wonder old people who don't have jobs - and are always home- are so grumpy. Ironically they use landscapers too. Ban those things, I don't want to hear the landscaper working 6 houses away.

Pulled an iSCSI card out of the spares bin that had been used before - somebody set the IQN to a custom string that was getting rejected by our SAN. Took an annoyingly long time to figure that one out.

Holy shit I hate leaf blowers. It's a bunch of noise for nothing. There was no such thing when I was growing up, and everyone somehow managed through life. I take a pretty dim view of lawn care in general, but blowers are an order of magnitude greater in stupidity.
