I started drinking about 5 years ago - now i'm done. I went to a movie, had a few beers there, and didn't hate the movie, but didn't get much out of it. I went back without drinking and realized "wow, this is a really deep and interesting movie."

I told myself before I started drinking "If I start drinking instead of enjoying other things in my life, this is a problem and I'll stop."

So i've stopped.

I drink here and there, but I always have it on the back of my mind that I can't let it become a habit. I sometimes drink wine either with family, or sometimes I buy some to just sip on at home. I also normally keep it for times that I'm off work. If I work the next day, then no drinking.

We keep getting short power outages in the last few days that cause my inverter-charger to go to bulk charge mode and it keeps producing hydrogen which keeps triggering alarms on my phone.

The good news...

I got to use the blousing strings on my ACUs! I hardly ever get to use them.

The bad news...

I used them cause I had 4"+ water in my basement, and used them to keep my pant legs up :^( Got some biblical scale rain tonight, and all the water went in the basement. The sump pump was running non stop, and it ended up tripping the main breaker; three times :^S

The drainage here sucks. Half the yard goes straight for the house. I need to do some maintenance around here, especially with the gutters, but that'll only go so far. Doing a proper drain would require tearing up a lot of stuff I don't want torn up. I need to get something together. The weather's getting radical, and we're getting extreme conditions that used to only come with hurricanes, or once/twice a lifetime storms.

Just had a minor(major actually) panic attack. I noticed my hot water wasn't quite as hot as it should be, went in the basement, and found the water heater was OFF. I just got it last year, and it's got fancy shit(read delicate, can't look at or service anything) on the front that I'm not familiar with. No status light, and my initial attempt at starting it didn't produce results. Grab the manual and look; nothing. Get online, and find little. The stuff I found was from bullshit home help sites that are about as good as yahoo answers.

Well, turns out I'm a dumbass. No status light is the normal state when off. I just needed to hold the pilot button longer than expected to get it going. It did /kind of/ say no status light was normal in the manual, but I wasn't in the right frame of mind to grasp it. They could have been more explicit. Hopefully it keeps working. Not in the mood for a heater troubleshoot/repair, and hot water is my favorite luxury.

Tried to hook up the Switch to my tv but the HDMI inputs are all on the left while the only power outlet available is far to the right. Coupled with an ultra short AC adapter and I'm left with needing to either use an extension cord or get a longer HDMI cable.

Ran out of distilled water when maintaining my UPS batteries, now I have to go buy some. I could make my own, but it's so much easier to just buy it.

As a side note I really need to move my battery setup into a proper battery box that I can access in-place. It's kinda a pita with my battery rack as I need to disconnect them all to take them out to maintain them.

Ordered 21mm spring bars for my watch band and got 20mm spring bars. You'd think that 1mm wouldn't make all that much difference but . . .

What's weird though is that it wasn't an ordinary f*** up. The package was marked "21mm." But there is no doubt that they were only 20mm.
