Lol no kidding, try 4 hours of sunshine and like 20 hours of no sunshine. That's basically what we get here most of the year. Well more like 6 I guess. I actually got SAD this year. Finally caught up with me. Though part of my issue was working lot of nights and staying in night shift mode even on days off, so even on my days off I was not seeing sun light since I was sleeping in too much. Would be dark again by the time I get up.

Back on day shifts now and when winter comes back I will need to use light therapy to make sure I don't get it again. Even on day shifts I don't see daylight at all if I'm working. It's pitch black in morning and dark by 5 for most of the year.

Right now it's awesome though. Sun is up past 10. But this is short lived. I forget when the solstice is but think it's some times in June, then the days get shorter again.

My apartment's circa-1985 air conditioning unit and single pane windows are no match for 100 degree temperatures. At least there are big walnut trees blocking a portion of the sun.

My central air is still out. My house got up to 78F today which wasn't terrible, but it's going to be in the mid-90s tomorrow. There's a chance I'm getting it fixed tomorrow afternoon, but I might have to wait until Tuesday.

I shot a whole time lapse in RAW instead of jpeg. So it fubared up my workflow. I shoot raw for photos, but for time lapse it's so much simpler to shoot jpeg since it's not like I'm going to sit down and adjust/edit 1,000's of pictures. But now because it's raw I had to import them in Darktable and then export them so it just adds an extra step. I mean if I was really picky I COULD adjust them then repeat for all, but it's fine straight out of the camera for the purpose of a time lapse.

I actually want to look at getting a gopro for time lapses as it's more weather proof so I could in theory leave it outside.

Not really a first world problem, but I had horrendous restless leg syndrome last night, so I got like two hours of sleep. Now it's 0200 and I'm exhausted but I can't sleep. If you can just go to bed at 10PM and sleep for 8 hours, I want you to reflect on how lucky you are.

Yesterday it got up to 80F in my house (AC is broken) with 60% humidity. I couldn't open my windows because it was 100% humidity outside. I dragged my dehumidifer up from the basement and it got the humidity down to ~52%, but raised the temperature to 83F. Woke up this morning to a house that was 81F with 60% humidity.

At least the rest of the week should be better.

I just turned my ac on for the first time. It was 80 inside yesterday, but I held off. Should have turned it on. 80 is ok, but this place is really humid. Need to run the ac to cut the moisture. It was 80 again today. I hate summer.

Tonight is much better! Opened all the windows after work and now the indoor humidity is 35%, with a temp of 78F. Outdoor humidity is climbing so I'll shut the windows soon.

Yeah, summer kinda sucks. I wish we could have like four months of winter, four months of fall, and four months of spring.

The coffee at our seminar ran out, so I had to walk fifteen feet to the restaurant to get a cup.

Spent 30 minutes on an initial phone interview only to be told at the end the salary range they are looking to pay is $80k - $100k, and that they could MAYBE stretch it to $110k and the extreme case MAYBE $120k but that is probably unlikely. While it was a good chat and I like the company, had I known that prior, I wouldn't have even have applied for the position and spent 30 minutes of each or our time since I can't take that peasant salary.

Companies should just advertise two salary ranges: Peasant Salary and ATOT Salary.

I was at least glad this company went into the salary expectations on the initial phone call. He understood what a waste of time it would be to continue onto the next stage if we weren't on the same page about that. A lot of companies are not like this though, which I think is so dumb and why companies should advertise the salary range on a job posting.

For what I assume is a senior-level software engineering job in the DC area? That salary range is a joke.

Remote senior dev position HQ'd in Boston. But they have like 4 employees and are very early startup stages so it's understandable. But I do question how they could get any senior people for that range generally speaking.

I dont think you are correct. BUT, if you showed me some sort of info that senior software engineers in DC make much more than 120 thousand, I wouldnt argue with that.
