That's weird. I wouldn't have expected anything in a jar. Stuff like flour gets weevils(I think that's what they are) in it. I think it ships with eggs, and they eventually hatch. I'd have thought the processing in a jar of wheat germ would have killed anything present.i bought some wheat germ once, and didnt eat it for months and opened the jar and it was crawling with mite looking things.Horrific.i have no clue what they were.
This. After 22 years, the wife still doesn't understand it.Every container is a single serving size.
Remove the white powder first.
I'm the same way. I don't drink, unless I drink, then I drink. I don't eat like junk, unless I eat like junk, then I eat like junk.My weight's not /too/ bad. I'm ~225#/6'5". I need to lose the fat around my middle. That's the worst kind to have, and it irritates me seeing it there. Diet could use some improvement. Biggest thing is to not eat crap. I'm pretty good about not eating snack food, but when I'm in, I'm all in. Every container is a single serving size. I'll see some chips or something that look interesting, buy it, then eat the whole fucking bag  It might be once a week or less, but it's a bunch of useless calories I don't need.
I just need to refine things, and not be lazy. Last night dinner was organic hotdogs and raw curried sauerkraut. It was gonna be a vegetable curry and some rice, but moths got into my rice, and I got pissed and didn't feel like dealing with it. Fun fact, moth larvae looks *exactly* like rice grains, and it's tedious getting them out. That might be my July4 project. Or maybe it'll be bird food... I shouldn't have bought such a big bag. I don't eat much rice. Anyway point is my diet /tends/ to be good, but it's all one way or the other. Where it goes wrong, it goes really wrong, and I need to trim those times down.
Oh, my heart bleeds for you.I went to the store yesterday and couldn't find where I placed my chocolate teddy grahams. Those delicious things have disappeared
I've said it before (before the thread was locked!): None of you know how to wipe your ass.Spent so much on the toilet that you can't afford good TP? I'd give up a lot of stuff before I downgrade my asswipe.
Eh, that doesn't really work. Eat like a pig, go to bed and suffer heart burn. And regret. Fuck that.I'm the same way. I don't drink, unless I drink, then I drink. I don't eat like junk, unless I eat like junk, then I eat like junk.
But like drinking, I can say "oh, I will not eat any more junk" and I will live. But that's me, i'm all in or all out, 100% balls to the wall or nothing.
Dude, keep stuff like that in bottles, not plastic bags and you won't have those problems. And I hate those little moths flying around too, but I rarely have larvae in my food. BTDT.Fun fact, moth larvae looks *exactly* like rice grains, and it's tedious getting them out.
Moths (and butterflies) are innocuous creatures. AFAIK, none of them can do you any harm, in any part of their life cycles. Not true of all insects.haha.lxsllr those moths are going to give me nightmares shivers
I almost never go into a thrift store these days. Only time I will is if there's some particular thing I want/need from them... hoping they will have it. It's usually no and a waste of my time. I rarely stop to look at stuff left on the curb, whether it's for sale or free anymore. I did spot a nice oscillating fan the other day and doubled back for it. Glad I did, but that's rare. It was a freebie. I have it running right now.Didn't feel like going to the pawn shop. Too hot.
Mixed bag today. I went to goodwill, and it was half off day. Whatever. I only stop in for the off chance they have something I want. They usually don't. Well, I found some nice American made thinsulate combat boots, for $14/2. Great! Go to check out, and the line's wrapping halfway around the store. Debate getting the boots, but I can't leave them on the table, so I wait, and wait, and wait... I eventually made it out without too much of my life expended, but holy fuck that took a long time. Upside is I got some nice boots for winter.
It's getting to the point I don't need to stop. I mostly go for BDUs/ACUs and combat boots. I have about 8 pair of boots, and I don't even know how many pair of ACUs I have. Probably enough to last the rest of my career. I'm done with the ACUs unless I can get them super cheap. I'll now only buy if I can get interesting camo patterns. I especially like the chocolate chip desert camo, and the Airforce uniform looks good. It's a good winter weight, I'm still pissed I didn't get the jacket when I had a chance. I didn't know they had a map pocket inside, I could use that. I don't have any operational camo either. I'd get that if I saw it, but I prefer not wearing current patterns.I almost never go into a thrift store these days. What's ACU/BDU?Otherwise, I look for treasures. I have a pretty good eye for quality, and can walk the aisles fast. Last interesting thing I found was a couple Finnish enamelware cups from the 60s. They caught my eye, and I liked the way they looked. I paid <$1 each. Looked them up online after I got home, and they go for ~$50 each in chipped condition. Not like I'll ever sell them, but it's nice to know I could.

Ah, you know your cargo pants a ton better than I do, kudos! I've been wearing that kind of stuff since the 1970s, a lot of the time. I wear them around the house, I wear them everywhere. I was kicked off a golf course (country club) for wearing a pair of black cargo pants. Fortunately, my partner (a member) had a pair of slacks in his locker that I could wear, and they fit me!ArmyCombatUniform/BattleDressUniform
The ACU is current, but uses the newer operational camo instead of the universal camo. Not sure if they changed features on the newest, but V2 ACU is my favorite so far. They have adjustable bungees on the cargo pockets, and V2 has button closures instead of the velcro on V1. The BDU is Vietnam style, but uses a larger woodland pattern camo instead of the older ERDL which was the same, but had a smaller pattern.
Least favorite is the Navy blueberries. Aside from the questionable camo pattern, the cargo pockets are a PITA. They have tight non adjustable elastic, and I had to cut the corner where the flap was sewn down to make it usable at all. Won't buy again.
I'm not so in love with camo, though they do have all my favorite colors, but the quality is lacking on civilian models. I'd be happy with solid tan, khaki, or OD, but they just aren't as good as the used military stuff I can get at a fraction of the price. We have a base very close, so there's a good local supply.Ah, you know your cargo pants a ton better than I do, kudos! I've been wearing that kind of stuff since the 1970s, a lot of the time. My government issue camos are all so worn it isn't funny. Holes, etc. I've sewn patches on them, I have around 4 pair, I think. I wear them sometimes but mostly now I wear black cargo pants. They have an extra pair of pockets around the knee, for a total of 8 pockets. I ordered them from that online surplus store in Vermont, Vermont Barre Army Navy store. I found out about them by asking a guy I spotted on the street wearing a pair of black cargos! I have 6 or more of theirs, also several pairs of cargo shorts that I picked up here and there, but I rarely wear them, maybe for golf. I gotta lose 10 or more pounds, then I'll fit decently in my favorite black cargoes from Barre Vermont store (I have 3 pair of them, basically new). I would buy some genuine serviceable tough real camo cargoes if I spotted them, but haven't seen them and haven't bothered to hunt them down. It would be great to replace the dilapidated set I have now.
I got a keurig tonight. I gave it to my mother years ago. She said it quit working, so she went out and bought the same thing. I get to her house and try it, and it works for me. Same as all the other stuff that "doesn't work". I should open a holistic electronic repair shop. I merely need to lay hands on them to get them going again...
Anyway, I have her old keurig. I could use it occasionally at work, but I'm philosophically opposed to all the waste they generate, plus the expense. Not sure yet what I'll do with it :^/
That's the worst of all worlds. Inferior extraction, work intensive, and small quantities. I'd rather use my French press. It would have been useful as a water heater a year ago, but we got a dispenser that makes good hot water.Get refillable keurig pod?
