CitiBank jerked me around.

I've paid off what I owe and pulled the rest of my funds. Once things show zeroed out, all will be closed.

It's Halloween and for the first time in ages it is not raining. This means I have to walk more.

Stupid kids. None of them are clever enough to come by twice, so now I have 33 full-size candy bars to get rid of.

Sadly with the exceptions of OT and the "bad place" there's just not a ton of activity round these parts anymore.

My Windows 7 Pro machine managed to lose the *shutdown* button from its Start Menu. What the . . . ?

No WIndows updates in years. I don't even know what to do to reinstate it - other than sift through start menu properties. Maybe it's infected.

Well it magically reappeared. Just now when I started hitting up the internets for solutions. I popped up the Start Menu - to Run gpedit - and voila, there was the Shutdown button. Never did a single thing to restore it. I just noticed it missing yesterday, as I went to shutdown for the night. Button has been missing today too, even after booting this morning.

What is going on? Is someone remotely triggering this? TIming is sus. Maybe it's Halloween haunting just that expired.

Try entering your social-security number, banking and e-mail passwords repeatedly in a search-engine using IE.... if your identity gets stolen and your accounts emptied you'll know you've been hacked.

Seriously if that PC is connected to the internet at all and has been used to surf the web you 99% certainly HAVE been compromised.... HOWEVER you can still upgrade to 10 Pro for free using the 7 Pro key. (and not doing so is foolish with an "online" machine)

Probably just an explorer glitch. If it happens again(or any other graphics weirdness), kill explorer and restart it. That might fix it.

I _dreamed_ about an on-line argument. Woke up annoyed that someone had implied I was promoting a conspiracy theory. Even, for a brief moment before I realised, considered going on-line to post an angry reply.

(Unless I have the same dream again I'll never be able to reply to the guy!)

I assumed this was sarcasm but if not there is no "free upgrade" link lol.

Just download the Win 10 ISO from Microsoft.

During installation when prompted for a key either enter one for Win 7 or select "install without a key" and activate it later. (still works as of approx 2 weeks ago)

Had to pay $65 to get a copy of my land deed, that I probably should have gotten in first place when I bought the land.

It's hard to read what anything says since it's from like 1907 and looks like it got photocopied on a photocopier from that era, but at least I have it!

Also found out I don't have pine tree rights, so I'm trying to figure that part out. I am hoping I can just buy those rights. I want to be able to cut/use any tree without having to worry. This is an old rule from the war since they needed the trees to build ship masts so the crown had all rights to them.

At least I have tree rights in general though, I was seeing lot of logging in the area and it occured to me that I had no document confirming that for me so that's what made me persue getting the deed.

Today, I learned about pine tree rights!

Red: if your patent is from 1907, you may own the mineral rights even if the patent says otherwise. Look up the Public Lands Act of 1913. It appears that Ontario retroactively granted property owners the mineral rights to parcels patented before 1913. Might be worth investigating.

Last night watching the end of season 2 of For All Mankind on AppleTV, twice the show stopped and kicked me to the home page of Roku. Then I had to relaunch and start the show up again, and it started me like a minute back so I had to fast forward to where I actually was. Twice.

THIS IS BULLSHIT MAN!

Hmmm that is interesting. It would be awesome if I did because I'm pretty sure there is gold just based on all the big rock and quartz I see everywhere.
