Purchased one Mega Millions ticket and did not get a single number correct. Not one.

Gotta buy one or two for the next drawing.

Again, I really want to get rid of my decade old speakers and receiver, but holy shit, there are so many wires... Price isn't even the concern. Two long speaker cables collected in a basket hanging under the desk, one 25' subwoofer cable, receiver tucked into a corner, AV cable to sound card, 30 lb subwoofer, 20 lb receiver, and 20 lb speakers. And the subwoofer power cord is tangled behind a shelf full of stuff with my TV cables.

The speakers are still great, but the receiver is probably about to blow, and the subwoofer is/has been barely audible for the past decade. I really am going to miss them but got damn, that is a lot of stuff.

this is why I got rid of my 5.1 setup and never looked back.

Spent 4 hours updating Win7 at work, and it still wasn't done when I left. After a couple false starts, it began updating, but at a glacial pace. I have no fuckin' idea what Windows does when it updates, but it's doing it wrong. I could upgrade gentoo, compiling all the packages in less time than Windows installs updates :^S

Yeah I don't get why windows is so slow at doing simple tasks like updating. Like we're only talking MB worth of data here, it should not really take any more than like a minute at very most. The time it takes to download should be longer than the time it takes to actually update.

So... I decided that if/when I do get rid of my speakers, I'm going to get a compact set of Bose computer speakers. Yep, Bose. I am also disappoint.

And I think I worked out the logistics of getting rid of my stereo. The 35 lb subwoofer will be the greatest challenge.

Sub's fine... I just don't want a 35 lb plastic box anymore. I can't hear it because I only have space in the middle of the room, 10' away from my main speakers and seat -- worst placement ever.

Simple, compact, and portable is what I want. Unfortunately, I realized that I will still need speakers because wearing headphones all the time is annoying -- the Bose pair is only ~$100, gets really good reviews.

Too freaking hot down here. The temperature is in the mid 90's but after the humidity and heat index, it feels like 105 or higher. I feel for folks that work outdoor such as construction.

Got to the office this morning hoping to upgrade to WinX. Had the icon, clicked it, and said Yes! I do want to upgrade now! Then nothing. Tried it again. Nothing. Rebooted the computer, had 100 more updates to Win7, and I wanted to cry. At least it went a bit faster this time. More like lava than glacial. Got WinX installed and the secretary's software.

Aside from the non-technical issues with WinX(spyware, and the weird symlinked libraries), it's a decent o/s. If I ran Windows, I think I'd enjoy X. It's definitely better than XP, which is on most of the machines, but I'll be keeping my Xubuntu.

Did the Craigslist thing again...

I gave the person a specific location within a 5' radius of a fairly easy to find landmark. He decided to wing it and figure it out when we were in the area.................. We found each other 25 minutes after we both arrived within the same block. Big giant open area and he said he was parked "left" of a landmark. Problem: the landmark is encircled by a 1-way road meaning everything in the giant open area is technically "left" of someone on that road.

I fuqed up by misreading his text identifying the color of his car and walked around the entire circle looking for the wrong color. OMFGBBQ.

Raging at UPS. Last week, they delivered my new 4K monitor with a shattered screen.
Seller filed a claim with UPS last week, pickup of the broken monitor was scheduled for Monday, 5 business days later, they still haven't picked it up. Went ballistic when they told me the reason they haven't picked it up yet is because the driver couldn't find my address.

Somehow managed to stay calm, taking it out on the outsourced customer service rep wouldn't have been right anyway. Hopefully I can be just as calm when they pick it next Monday, if they pick it up next Monday...

^That sucks. It's also why I try to buy my electronics locally -- most likely to be defective and need a return/exchange.

Texting skills are beginning to approach 16 year old overly emotional teenage daughter levels of speed and finesse due to the person I got involved with texting me every few minutes throughout the day. Crazy.
