Again, I really want to get rid of my decade old speakers and receiver, but holy shit, there are so many wires... Price isn't even the concern. Two long speaker cables collected in a basket hanging under the desk, one 25' subwoofer cable, receiver tucked into a corner, AV cable to sound card, 30 lb subwoofer, 20 lb receiver, and 20 lb speakers. And the subwoofer power cord is tangled behind a shelf full of stuff with my TV cables.
Spent 4 hours updating Win7 at work, and it still wasn't done when I left. After a couple false starts, it began updating, but at a glacial pace. I have no fuckin' idea what Windows does when it updates, but it's doing it wrong. I could upgrade gentoo, compiling all the packages in less time than Windows installs updates :^S
Yeah I don't get why windows is so slow at doing simple tasks like updating. Like we're only talking MB worth of data here, it should not really take any more than like a minute at very most. The time it takes to download should be longer than the time it takes to actually update.

The speakers are still great, but the receiver is probably about to blow, and the subwoofer is/has been barely audible for the past decade. I really am going to miss them but got damn, that is a lot of stuff.
So... I decided that if/when I do get rid of my speakers, I'm going to get a compact set of Bose computer speakers. Yep, Bose. I am also disappoint.
And I think I worked out the logistics of getting rid of my stereo. The 35 lb subwoofer will be the greatest challenge.
wtfbbq at least get active monitors.
your sub probably just need a re-cone.
Sub's fine... I just don't want a 35 lb plastic box anymore. I can't hear it because I only have space in the middle of the room, 10' away from my main speakers and seat -- worst placement ever.
Simple, compact, and portable is what I want. Unfortunately, I realized that I will still need speakers because wearing headphones all the time is annoying -- the Bose pair is only ~$100, gets really good reviews.
Haha, same here. Watching TV and air conditioning comes on, do I turn it off or turn the TV up loud?My air conditioner is too loud so I can't hear anything such as if I want to watch videos or something.
Did the Craigslist thing again...
I gave the person a specific location within a 5' radius of a fairly easy to find landmark. He decided to wing it and figure it out when we were in the area.................. We found each other 25 minutes after we both arrived within the same block. Big giant open area and he said he was parked "left" of a landmark. Problem: the landmark is encircled by a 1-way road meaning everything in the giant open area is technically "left" of someone on that road.
I fuqed up by misreading his text identifying the color of his car and walked around the entire circle looking for the wrong color. OMFGBBQ.
Whatever happened to calling?
We texted furiously throughout then tried calling and got as far as texting did.
I am impressed that you are still alive.
