Spent 30 minutes on an initial phone interview only to be told at the end the salary range they are looking to pay is $80k - $100k, and that they could MAYBE stretch it to $110k and the extreme case MAYBE $120k but that is probably unlikely. While it was a good chat and I like the company, had I known that prior, I wouldn't have even have applied for the position and spent 30 minutes of each or our time since I can't take that peasant salary.

They usually put a field for expected salary (if you want to disclose that) in most of the job applications I've done.

My chainsaw is sitting next to the kitchen table(The joys if being single!), and I'm dying to get out cutting, but it's too hot. It's like Santa came, delivered the toys, but you can't play with them til June :^(

If you get door to door people come to your house you should start the chainsaw and go answer the door.

I hate when positions that don't have a specific salary that is listed. I've had interviews like that too where they ask me how much I want to make. That seems like such an odd question. I don't want my salary to be based on how good I am at guessing/negotiating on the day of my interview. So that one day, determines how much I get paid for the rest of my time there? That's BS. I just want to make whatever everyone else doing what I do is making or at least have the ability to work my way there once I'm off probation. I guess that's where unions are good as stuff like that is more structured and they tend to list salary on the job offer.

I make around 80k right now it's pretty good coin. Expecting over 100k as a new employee for any job seems a bit steep. Even management at my company tend to make less money than employees once they first start. They have to prove themselves over time and then eventually they'll make more. Some people have actually moved to management only to realize they could not afford to salary change even if temporary, and decided to get their union job back. You have a certain amount of time before you can do it.

I don't get many door to doors here. Every once in awhile I'll find stuff from the Jehovahs stuffed in my door handle. I've talked to them a couple times. They've always been pleasant, and take "no" for an answer. Hard to get mad at them for doing what they do.

I used to to work with a hyperChristian, and he told me about the time Mormons knocked on the door. He invited them in, and spent the next bunch of time lecturing them :^D I still laugh when I think about that.

Hung laundry out today on my solar clothes dryer, and my repair broke; The wood rotted, and got weak. I figured that would happen, but not this quickly. I have it rigged for the time being, but I'll have to replace it with something else. Maybe pvc...

My two weeks off went by WAY too fast, and I have to head back to work tomorrow. I feel I didn't accomplish as much as I wanted to, because it feels like days just got skipped or something, that's just how fast it went. Especially the 2nd week. Basically went to bed on Sunday, and woke up on Thursday. That's how it feels like.

I accidentally bought a domain name for $60. I had it set in my pending buy at Snapnames and forgot about it and now I won it. I guess it was significant at the time I put it there, but now I don't want it. I guess I'll have to find a use for it or just cut my losses and let it expire.
The coolest thing about having a website is linking things like docs and photos... When I go to it, it knows it's me and I can edit/add/delete. I could not care less if people don't visit it since it's a hub for me. I paid the 80 cents extra ($2.40/mo. + free lifetime domain).
My place. According to my analytics no one goes there anyway. It's a different story with my YouTube channel.

The plumbers are coating my pipes which involves various noises (including the death screams of my credit card ). One of those noises is what sounds like a bagpipe deflating, most annoying.

I love the Ghirardelli 86% cacao, but I saw the 92% in the store so I bought it. It's pretty good, but a tad too bitter on first taste. I think I'll stick with the 86%.

Yea, I agree. ~86 is about my limit also. My favorite is probably a bit lower than that. It's less brittle with the lower concentrations.

It was so hot today. Upper 90's plus high humidity = over 100's heat index. Tomorrow will be 99 plus humidity = over 100 F, same hot weather.

Misery and it is not even July/August, the two hottest months in summer.
