That's weird. I wouldn't have expected anything in a jar. Stuff like flour gets weevils(I think that's what they are) in it. I think it ships with eggs, and they eventually hatch. I'd have thought the processing in a jar of wheat germ would have killed anything present.

I have a stack of unused gift cards on my desk. I always forget to grab one before I go to the store so they just sit there taking up space.

I waited too long before visiting the Dollar Store. Was not able to get all the one dollar hats I wanted, for Independence Day.

I have to go to an Independence Day parade in the morning, and it's going to prevent me from sleeping in as late as I want.

Maybe I can find one on TV and get out of having to go.

Remove the white powder first.

I did not expect those old games to be as good in visual as the latest games from PS4/XB1 but the 8 bit games look odd in the big screen HDTV. And my system is a new version yet Nintendo still has the 3 ft long controller and only one per system. Darn it.

I went to the store yesterday and couldn't find where I placed my chocolate teddy grahams. Those delicious things have disappeared

My weight's not /too/ bad. I'm ~225#/6'5". I need to lose the fat around my middle. That's the worst kind to have, and it irritates me seeing it there. Diet could use some improvement. Biggest thing is to not eat crap. I'm pretty good about not eating snack food, but when I'm in, I'm all in. Every container is a single serving size. I'll see some chips or something that look interesting, buy it, then eat the whole fucking bag  It might be once a week or less, but it's a bunch of useless calories I don't need.

I just need to refine things, and not be lazy. Last night dinner was organic hotdogs and raw curried sauerkraut. It was gonna be a vegetable curry and some rice, but moths got into my rice, and I got pissed and didn't feel like dealing with it. Fun fact, moth larvae looks *exactly* like rice grains, and it's tedious getting them out. That might be my July4 project. Or maybe it'll be bird food... I shouldn't have bought such a big bag. I don't eat much rice. Anyway point is my diet /tends/ to be good, but it's all one way or the other. Where it goes wrong, it goes really wrong, and I need to trim those times down.
I'm the same way. I don't drink, unless I drink, then I drink. I don't eat like junk, unless I eat like junk, then I eat like junk.

But like drinking, I can say "oh, I will not eat any more junk" and I will live. But that's me, i'm all in or all out, 100% balls to the wall or nothing.

Holy Christ! My main midtower system wouldn't boot. The boot sequence was 4th of July fireworks, I do not lie. Just weird bright colors everywhere when everything was supposed to be black and white, and the characters, 90% of them, made no sense at all and Windows would lock up before launching. It took me 1/2 the day to get the system working, thought I'd have to get another mobo but Safe Mode and SFC /SCANNOW seem to have saved the system. I posted in two threads, starting one in Computer Help, the other at AVS Forums (it's my HDTV box), but no one had the ideas that seem to have lead to the answer.

Spent so much on the toilet that you can't afford good TP? I'd give up a lot of stuff before I downgrade my asswipe.
I've said it before (before the thread was locked!): None of you know how to wipe your ass.

Eh, that doesn't really work. Eat like a pig, go to bed and suffer heart burn. And regret. Fuck that.

Dude, keep stuff like that in bottles, not plastic bags and you won't have those problems. And I hate those little moths flying around too, but I rarely have larvae in my food. BTDT.

If I'm concerned something I bring home already might be infested I'll stick it in the freezer for a few days before storing on a shelf.

BTW, I've decided to pretty much give up on rice. The brown stuff is better nutrition but there's a problem with arsenic in it. I'm going to go through my existing 10lb bag but am going with quinoa now. Expensive, but much better nutrition and no arsenic issue.
haha.lxsllr those moths are going to give me nightmares shivers
Moths (and butterflies) are innocuous creatures. AFAIK, none of them can do you any harm, in any part of their life cycles. Not true of all insects.

Didn't feel like going to the pawn shop. Too hot.

Mixed bag today. I went to goodwill, and it was half off day. Whatever. I only stop in for the off chance they have something I want. They usually don't. Well, I found some nice American made thinsulate combat boots, for $14/2. Great! Go to check out, and the line's wrapping halfway around the store. Debate getting the boots, but I can't leave them on the table, so I wait, and wait, and wait... I eventually made it out without too much of my life expended, but holy fuck that took a long time. Upside is I got some nice boots for winter.
I almost never go into a thrift store these days. Only time I will is if there's some particular thing I want/need from them... hoping they will have it. It's usually no and a waste of my time. I rarely stop to look at stuff left on the curb, whether it's for sale or free anymore. I did spot a nice oscillating fan the other day and doubled back for it. Glad I did, but that's rare. It was a freebie. I have it running right now.

It's getting to the point I don't need to stop. I mostly go for BDUs/ACUs and combat boots. I have about 8 pair of boots, and I don't even know how many pair of ACUs I have. Probably enough to last the rest of my career. I'm done with the ACUs unless I can get them super cheap. I'll now only buy if I can get interesting camo patterns. I especially like the chocolate chip desert camo, and the Airforce uniform looks good. It's a good winter weight, I'm still pissed I didn't get the jacket when I had a chance. I didn't know they had a map pocket inside, I could use that. I don't have any operational camo either. I'd get that if I saw it, but I prefer not wearing current patterns.

I get about two years out of a pair of boots, but they're pretty thrashed by that point, and aren't fit to wear. 1-1.5 years is probably more accurate. IOW, I buy for the future. If I wait til I need something, I'll probably be SOL.

Otherwise, I look for treasures. I have a pretty good eye for quality, and can walk the aisles fast. Last interesting thing I found was a couple Finnish enamelware cups from the 60s. They caught my eye, and I liked the way they looked. I paid <$1 each. Looked them up online after I got home, and they go for ~$50 each in chipped condition. Not like I'll ever sell them, but it's nice to know I could. Plus, you never know what you'll find. I keep hoping for hp 48gx calculators. I got one once at a flea market, but otherwise they've eluded me. I'll take as many of those as I can get.

What's ACU/BDU?

I am very particular about my coffee cups. I bought one that says 1968 Deutschland at a thrift store 15+ years ago, it's a beer mug 0.5L that was my favorite until I found a fantastic big mug on the sidewalk around 8 months ago, and that's my favorite now, it's right next to me! I can go to 100 stores and not find one I like as much and I've hunted online and can't find anything as favored by me. I bought a couple 20oz mugs 2 weeks ago online, they are OK, but very inferior to my current favorite. Looking in thrift stores for coffee mugs is a waste of time, completely, I know. The one I found 8 months ago has a couple 4" long branching cracks, so I am careful with it, but it does the job, it's beautiful too, and is hand-painted. I suppose they put it out because it doesn't look good -- you see the cracks on the inside, not the outside. I smoothed out some chips on the rim. Wish I could find ones like it.

I wouldn't stop anywhere to check out thrown away shoes or boots. I had a job around 25 years ago where I needed steel toed shoes. I couldln't find any in the stores that didn't hurt my feet. I found some leather work shoes that looked OK and fit me decently and I bought 3-4 pairs and I still have them. The worst of them's outside surface is so scuffed it isn't funny, actually has a hole or two in the sides, but I still wear them from time to time. I won't throw them away because finding shoes that don't hurt to wear is a toughie for me. I use the most beat up pair when working out in the yard sometimes. The soles don't pick up mud like my cross trainers, and they fit decent. I have one pair of those work shoes in the trunk of my car, for emergencies, just in case.

What's ACU/BDU?
ArmyCombatUniform/BattleDressUniform

The ACU is current, but uses the newer operational camo instead of the universal camo. Not sure if they changed features on the newest, but V2 ACU is my favorite so far. They have adjustable bungees on the cargo pockets, and V2 has button closures instead of the velcro on V1. The BDU is Vietnam style, but uses a larger woodland pattern camo instead of the older ERDL which was the same, but had a smaller pattern.

Least favorite is the Navy blueberries. Aside from the questionable camo pattern, the cargo pockets are a PITA. They have tight non adjustable elastic, and I had to cut the corner where the flap was sewn down to make it usable at all. Won't buy again.

edit:
There's a bunch more acronyms I can't keep straight, but the USAF has a semi digital tiger stripe pattern that looks nice. Their uniforms are heavy as shit. I'd be angry if I had to wear them some place like Iraq. There's also the desert uniforms. The older chocolate chip has "rocks"(the chocolate chips) printed on them. The newer coffee stain variant is smears of tan and green(looks like coffee stains). I haven't seen the new operational camo in person, but it's a highly mottled design of browns and greens. The USMC MARPAT(digital tan heavy design) has won awards, but is unobtainium. I believe they're supposed to be destroyed on retirement. I wouldn't be comfortable wearing those.

Ah, you know your cargo pants a ton better than I do, kudos! I've been wearing that kind of stuff since the 1970s, a lot of the time. I wear them around the house, I wear them everywhere. I was kicked off a golf course (country club) for wearing a pair of black cargo pants. Fortunately, my partner (a member) had a pair of slacks in his locker that I could wear, and they fit me!

My government issue camos are all so worn it isn't funny. Holes, etc. I've sewn patches on them, I have around 4 pair, I think. I wear them sometimes but mostly now I wear black cargo pants. They have an extra pair of pockets around the knee, for a total of 8 pockets. I ordered them from that online surplus store in Vermont, Vermont Barre Army Navy store. I found out about them by asking a guy I spotted on the street wearing a pair of black cargos! I have 6 or more of theirs, also several pairs of cargo shorts that I picked up here and there, but I rarely wear them, maybe for golf. I gotta lose 10 or more pounds, then I'll fit decently in my favorite black cargoes from Barre Vermont store (I have 3 pair of them, basically new). I would buy some genuine serviceable tough real camo cargoes if I spotted them, but haven't seen them and haven't bothered to hunt them down. It would be great to replace the dilapidated set I have now.

I'm not so in love with camo, though they do have all my favorite colors, but the quality is lacking on civilian models. I'd be happy with solid tan, khaki, or OD, but they just aren't as good as the used military stuff I can get at a fraction of the price. We have a base very close, so there's a good local supply.

I started wearing them for work only, but have transitioned to wearing them full time. They have everything I need, and predictable sizing. I also give fewer fucks the older I get. A Planck length is too big a scale to measure the fucks I give about people's opinions. Comfort and features > *

I got a keurig tonight. I gave it to my mother years ago. She said it quit working, so she went out and bought the same thing. I get to her house and try it, and it works for me. Same as all the other stuff that "doesn't work". I should open a holistic electronic repair shop. I merely need to lay hands on them to get them going again...

Anyway, I have her old keurig. I could use it occasionally at work, but I'm philosophically opposed to all the waste they generate, plus the expense. Not sure yet what I'll do with it :^/

That's the worst of all worlds. Inferior extraction, work intensive, and small quantities. I'd rather use my French press. It would have been useful as a water heater a year ago, but we got a dispenser that makes good hot water.
