Last night watching the end of season 2 of For All Mankind on AppleTV, twice the show stopped and kicked me to the home page of Roku. Then I had to relaunch and start the show up again, and it started me like a minute back so I had to fast forward to where I actually was. Twice.

THIS IS BULLSHIT MAN!
That's how they boost viewership statistics.

Got a new bicycle frame (and fork) today that I had ordered. It included a headset, but instead of installing the headset, they tossed the loose parts in a loosely folded and stapled baggy. Welp, the parts were all over inside the larger shipping box, and the bearing retaining cages/rings were both bent, making them unusable. Seller expects me to ship everything back to get a working headset, instead of just sending me a new one (headset value is probably about $10, frame cost almost $300).

Probably just going to buy a separate (and better) headset to save the hassle.

If it's Ebay I'd be tempted to go full-retard on the seller since you KNOW "buyer-protection" will almost certainly side with you.

The fault is 100% his for the garbage packing job.

24 pieces of mail in the mailbox today. All of them were political mailers. All 24 went straight into the outside garbage can. Even more frustrating because I've already voted!

It's even worse or more inexcusable imho, as it was shipped by a cycle supplier selling through Amazon. They packed the frame and fork well, protected it well, etc. but someone went full-tard in thinking it was sufficient to toss the headset in there loosely. Bicycle shops and suppliers usually know better.

I didn't get a whole lot of "paper" election related stuff this time around but ONE donation and the Democratic party (who I'm voting for already on Tues) has been positively relentless with the emails!

Finally had to send everything from them to spam out of frustration.

If the guy won't compromise on shipping the whole thing back I would go "over his head" directly to Amazon and/or to your CC company.

Alternatively tell him he can work with you on making things right or you no longer want the thing at all and will take ALL your money back instead.

Also note that unless it's an Amazon "company-site" from a company I know I can trust outside of Amazon, I AVOID "marketplace" sellers for anything over maybe $10-$20 in price completely. (better off using Ebay as a buyer)

At least it's not snow?

Honestly I'll take the snow, at least you don't get soaked and can use power tools outside. Though it sucks trying to work with gloves on. Been trying to get a day where I can finish my solar project but I'm either working, or it's raining. And the snow is coming soon. So good days are numbered.

I am hoping that I can tilt the 400w array enough that snow won't stay on it, and I want to add another 1kw array. Hopefully at that point even with the short and dark days I can fully charge the battery in one day. Right now it takes several days to fully charge it if I run it down.

Trying to find a company that installs wood stoves too but not really getting anywhere. Might have to DIY. Goal is to heat with wood, and have enough solar to offset hydro usage, then I can save on both gas and hydro bill. Gas is the more expensive one now.

Might experiment with powering my portable AC unit off solar too, it has a heat pump mode. Just don't know how efficient it is when it's below zero, I don't think it's meant to be used year round.

Well, the separate headset should have been here Saturday, and of course is the last thing I'm waiting for to be able to build the bike. Cue the USPS idiocy! lol

Let's just pointlessly bounce it around the state to locations it has already been, to add a few days to the delivery time!!

Talk about a logistical waste of fuel, miles, and manhours fooling around with packages they could have been rid of days prior. The USPS is self-funded and not supported by taxpayers...and these kinds of errors and inefficiency are not helping their 'cash sieve' situation.

/end FWP rant of the day.

Headset mic stopped working with no warning. Tried all sorts of setting options in discord and windows but no luck. Had to buy a new headset.

Also, 5gHz radio or chipset on the router has been dying so I got a new router as well. Despite carrying forward all of my DHCP settings and DNS settings my pihole ad blocker doesn't seem to be working as it was before. I hate trying to troubleshoot that, such a pain in the rump.

I'm at work on night shift and realized I forgot my phone at home. Now it's bothering me because I don't remember where I left it, I hope it's ACTUALLY at home, and inside.

Ordered a 3090 ti from Amazon last Friday w/ Prime, and now it's delayed until the 11th. I can't remember the last time it took a week for Amazon to get me anything.

One positive aspect of using a legit un-modified up to date version of Android is features like "find my phone" working as intended.

Planned to change my NUC's wifi card from AX201 to an AX211. Didn't open it up before ordering the AX211 to see that it's integrated on the mobo and not changeable. Too late to return the AX211 chip, because I waited to install it.

Find my doohickey only works if you have Location on, which is a bad idea.

Meanwhile can Offshore Customer Service be outlawed?

Then don't complain when you lose your phone.

And since your phone is CONSTANTLY connected to multiple repeaters AT ALL TIMES (unless in airplane mode) and always "tracks" location, simply turning location off in software is a fool's comfort.

Using a poorly supported and thus unsecure 3rd party ROM for "security purposes" (lol) on your phone does zero to alleviate the above issue.
