<< I have a Honda Accord. It is flawless. >>

I get the feeling there's a loose nut behind the wheel in your car....

My car gas engine has no starter, and the gas engine shuts off at stoplights. But then again it's supposed to do that.

A plastic deflector got broke off of my rear windshield wiper and when I would it the rear wiper fluid button it would squirt a stream of wiper fluid about 10-15 feet out the back of the car.

Awesome anti-tailgate device!

Hmmm, my 1988 Accord does not register as being in park if the weather is cold, so the car will not start unless I put the tranny in neutral. The tranny is physically in Park, but apparently the electrical "Park-Start Interlock" contact is not always made in cold weather. Other than that, nothing. My 1976 Porsche has so many problems I can't even begin. 25 year old fuel injection is a PITA.

On my Tbird the driver side power lock switch will only lock the passenger side door, but it won't unlock it and it won't do anything to the driver's side door. The passenger side switch however will both lock and unlock the driver side door, but not the passenger's.

One other wierd thing about my car - I can't lock my doors when the door is open. I either have to be in the car with the door shut, or out of the car with the door shut and lock it with the key.

Somewhat annoying, but I'm guaranteed that I'll never lock myself out my car

The driver's door on my Accord and my 914 are the same way. I like the feature myself.

<< My 1994 Toyota Corolla doesn't like to start every now and then, I'm thinking it's a problem with the starter, turn the key, the dashboard lights light up but the engine doesn't even crank. Then I try again, nothing, wait a few minutes then it starts up. It's happened 3-4 times within a 2 week time span so far.

Fix car = less money = less Hot Deals = Ross on PMS
>>

Put the car in gear and rock it a little. Should start right up. Sounds like your starter motor's or altenator's getting stopped in just the wrong spot. I've fixed more "broken" cars by rocking them back a little than I can count on one hand, and I'm only 20.

BTW, I thought you were GirlFriday until I looked twice. You cross-dresser!

My Accord Wagon's tailgate lock doesn't work with the key, you have to use the power locks.

And does anyone with an Accord w/ a power antenna know this sound: "CHUNKA CHUNKA CUNCKA CHUNKA KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK."?
Put a little WD40 on the antenna, should make it work right again. It's a design flaw.

Occasionally when I start my car, instead of the engine turning over I get this very hideous "ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" from the starter.

Mine does the same thing from time to time. Is your's a Ford? Mine's a Taurus.

My company car is a 4WD Chevy Astro, and when you roll the driver's window down, it will sometimes go all of the way down and refuse to raise back for 10-15 minutes. It's a real bitch when it's ten below outside.

Driver's side door lock won't turn with key from outside & will unlock if you lock door & then shut it. You need to lock it & climb out passenger side.

Radio won't turn on unless you're going 70+mph in 4th gear (must be 4th gear, 5th won't do it).

Passenger side window falls down on it's own (need to reach over & push back up occasionally)

Passenger side-view mirror will fall down on own (need to re-adjust occasionally)

To enter reverse: put it into 1st gear slot, let out on clutch slightly, pull back into neutral, pull shifter all the way over to 5th (but still in neutral), push back over towards first, lift up on shifter, pull past first & put up, let out on clutch SLOWLY hoping it did actually go into reverse & not first gear.

To open hood: Set large block on hood/have someone push it down, pull release, remove block/have person let go, open like normal hood (reach under & release, lift).

Bang on dash 5 times to get dash lights to turn on (switch has no effect), repeat to turn off.

Remember to close glove compartment after any large bumps

Wipers turn off in 'middle' position. Have to reach out window & push down when you want to turn them off.

If you use the parking brake, you must reach in left-rear wheel & release it there.

Gas pedal will become detached on any large bumps - must reach under hood & reattach cable to throttle.

All of this in my 1989 Pontiac Lemans, don't get me started on my parents Oldsmobile minivan who's sliding door will open whenever you put it into park.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the heating/vent controls have no bearing over the temperature. The center-console vents blow cold-air only, the outside & windshield defroster blow hot air only. They each have their own on/off switches to control the car temperature. The fan speed control does work however.

Not a design flaw in the least. That clicking sound is a tiny clutch in the antenna motor disengaging due to excessive resistance from antenna mast dirt buildup. If that clutch (and consequently the sound) were not there, the motor would burn out from trying to move a stuck antenna. The reason that WD-40 works is because it lubes the antenna and masks the problem caused by road crime temporarily. A better solution is to either wax the antenna carefully, or to apply a very, very fine sanding cloth to the antenna. Both of which are mildly abrasive and will clean off the road grime that is causing the antenna to stick. ALL power antennas are subject to getting stuck from road grime, most do not have the clutch though, and consequently they make no noise when the motor is bound up because of a suck antenna.

It's more the people in my car who are staring at me like they are gonna die.

My gas pedal sticks, but only the first time you press it after turning the engine on.... after that it's fine. I know what I need to do to fix it (clean out the throttle body) but I'm too lazy...

As long as it runs I'm happy. I'm too lazy to bother fixing most of them....although I have now fixed the gas pedal one & trying to figure out the radio one.

My '89 Bonneville has a few quirks. One is after I drive it I have to go and undo the gas cap to let the pressure out. It hisses and stuff if I dont. Another quirk is the Oil gauge goes up and down alot. When I accelerate it goes up and when I brake or the RPMs decrease it goes down. Very screwy but it runs ok for being a rusty junker.

My Accord's temp control is stuck on cold.

Great in summer... but damn chilly in winter.

Also, the hazard light stick on ... need to pound on the button with fist to dis-engage :disgust:

On my previous truck, 87 Nisson Hardbody: (Highschool, College Car)

Everything worked fine until I jumped those driveway hills in a housing development. My buddy said my back tire was at least 10' off the ground. After my Dad paid to have the front axle replaced.. eh hum...

The radio would not turn on unless you had the parking lights on.
Left Headlight would burn out every 13 days.
My Dog ate the passenger side door panel, so to open the door you had to hold the handle "case" agaisnt the door, and then pull handle.
A friend installed an alarm, and one day it pissed me off so I reached underneath and ripped it out and threw it out the window, from then on
if I locked my doors, the actuators would lock and the key would not unlock it.. I had to crawl in the sunroof (the latch was broken) to unlock the doors.
Lost my muffler (not a quirk, but fun at least)
On a cold day a friend ripped off the passenger door handle.
I didnt renew my tag, so driving it became a learning experience in avoidance
