What games can I run on this laptop ?

Here are the specs:
Intel® Pentium® processor 2117U
2MB cache and 1.8GHz processor (x2cpu's)
4GB DDR3 memory
Intel® HD Graphic card.
I know it's no big deal but is there any modern game that i could run on the lowest possible settings ?

Maybe Torchlight 2 or some similarly low-specced game. The lack of a dedicated video card is going to make running a lot of games pretty difficult.

That really depends on your definition on modern. There are plenty of fun games you can run on that laptop. But if you are asking about recent AAA titles like Borderlands 2, Tomb Raider, stuff like that then the answer is emphatically no.

What kind of games to you like? There should be a few more modern, but modest games that may fit the bill. But as said, no modern FPS for you on that laptop.

One of my more recent games is Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy). You should easily be able to run that with everything, including resolution, up to the highest settings.

TF2 is a maybe, but since it's free, no harm in trying, same with DOTA 2. For more games, I recommend looking at GoG.com.

Is it an HD 4000? Because if it is you should be able to run some modern things half way decently on lower res and settings.

The reviewer from Cnet says he got over 30 fps on Street Fighter 4 with an HD 4000.

Nope, OP's is not even close to HD4000 level performance.

Original HD might be best with retro games from gog.com.

HD2000 was fine for Torchlight 1 at 1024 x 768 but this is a generation before that.

defense grid, plants vs zombies, greed, etc. light indy games low res might run. Each game lists its specs why don't you look at what you like then check the specs?

Many of the indie games you can get on steam should be playable, but I don't suspect many AAA titles will run on that computer. 2D and turn based games are what you should be looking for.

Maybe some older RTS games like Rise of Nations, Age of Empires, Galactic Battlegrounds would run fine.

Also maybe some older RPG games like Kotor 1 and 2, or Baldur's gate EE. Starcraft 1 and the early Diablo games would probably work. I am sure the older RPGs like Baldurs Gate, and the Icewind Dale games would run, but personally I have a hard time with the graphics and interface in those really old games.

Edit: Kotor 1, and except for the muddled plot and ending, Kotor 2 were great games, and you can get them for 5.00 each on steam if you watch for a sale, or 10.00 anytime.

Thank you guys...I gotta say something... I didn't expect this much from the pc but, I recently played Civilization 5 with these settings:
Resolution: 1366x768
Texture : High
Shadow : Medium
And surprisingly the game ran really smooth... So is there any other game requesting the same system specs ?

Warlock: Master of the Arcane uses the same engine as Civ 5, so it should run similarly for you.

HD2000 = Sandy Bridge GT1
HD Graphics from 2117U = Ivy Bridge GT1 = HD 2500.

they call it HD Graphics and not HD 2500 because some video related features (unrelated to 3d performance) are disabled, apart from that slightly lower clock most times but, Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and Haswell "HD Graphics" are all different IGPs... but all faster than the original "HD Graphics" from Lynnfield.


you can play many newer games with lowest possible settings...
with some modded settings I was able to play Skyrim at 720P with HD2000 + single channel memory around 30fps most times I think.

I think you just need to change your laptop if you want to play something serious .
