What games do you currently have pre-ordered?

I"m just curious as to how many people actually pre-order games, and what games are currently pre-ordered.

I'm debating whether to go to Gamestop this Friday to pre-order Halo 3. What are everyone's thoughts on the chances of picking it up without a pre-order?

I pre-ordered R6:Vegas and Gears of War at gamestop, but managed to pick both up at wal-mart the day of release. So I basically gave gamestop $10 since I never went back, and I doubt they'll give it back now

I don't anticipate any problems picking up any of the games I want that are coming out this fall. I've only considered pre-ordering Halo 3 because Best Buy has a 1600 MS points card for $4.99 with pre-order deal.

Unless there's some special deal like this, I see no need to pre-order. I'll just waltz in to the store and if they don't have it I'll look elsewhere or *gasp* wait until it becomes more readily available.

I haven't pre-ordered a game since Phantasy Star III... Although I am thinking about pre-ordering Lair.

That's the same way I feel about it. I normally just pick them up when I can, and usually never have any problems. But it would be nice to get halo 3 when it first comes out

I'll be putting down a preorder for Halo 3 and most likely GTA4, but I don't really consider it a must. I think that in regards to the two games I've listed, putting down a preorder just makes it easy to get the game you want on release day.

You're just so easy going, huh? Some people prefer not to drive around town or *gasp* waste gas. Granted, the chances of most games not being available is slim, but some of us like the guarantee and knowledge that a game will be at one particular store when it's released, and you can pick it up at any time. I see nothing wrong with that, and I only reply to your post because you make it sound like people have to be stupid to preorder games. It's not like it costs extra.

I also like the fact that I get a phone call to let me know for sure when the game is in. I've wasted a ton of gas driving around to trying to find a game before. All 5 Gamestop's in my area had their shipments delayed for some reason, so I had to go to best buy to pick it up.

GTA IV at liongames.com. Only game I've ever pre-ordered. I usually prefer to wait for reviews before buying a game.

It's also very rare for me to pay full price for a game. All of my 360 games have been $25 or less (all used)

I wasn't trying to come off as elitist; I don't have anything against people who pre-order games (I've done it myself) but was just suggesting that patience isn't necessarily a bad thing either. Target, Best Buy, EB Games and FYE are all within walking distance of each other in the mall on my way home, and Walmart is just across the street - so no need for me to worry about wasting gas.

As I mentioned, I was considering pre-ordering Halo 3, and maybe even GTAIV, for in-store pickup, but past experience tells me I probably won't have a problem just stopping by on the way home from work.

Pre-ordered GTA IV, Mass Effect, and Halo 3 at liongames...3 hottest games of the year for $122+shipping is a no-brainer.

Hmm - thanks for the tip re. the BB deal - I went ahead and bought that. I don't think I've ever pre-ordered a game before, and honestly I am more excited about some other titles than I am about H3, but I would definitely buy it anyway, and there's no way it will go on sale anytime before Christmas, so the deal makes it worthwhile for me.

I don't pre-order. Best Buy, Circuit City, or Wal-Mart always has a copy in stock.

Zelda The Wind Waker was the only game I preordered. That was because I wanted the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest bonus disc.

I rarely pre-order unless it's a special edition that's also limited (like Blizzard games are).

The viral (and prices) on LionGames has just been too good, I have Halo3 on pre-order with them.

I never pre-order, I just use Amazon. Never a shortage there, only shortages in game stores BECAUSE of preorders. I really hate that. "We are only selling the games that were pre-ordered, come back in a week when our next shipment comes in". Pisses me off. Happens in NYC all the time. Amazon rocks.
