Post your specs. Witcher 3 has the best optimization of any game to date. It's ridiculous how easily some extremely old PCs have been able to run the game and even if you don't meet minimum specs, you can still run Hunter's CFG. It makes the game looks like Runescape, but it's playable.
  • 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3210M (3.10GHz, 3MB Cache)
  • Win 7 64bit
  • 4GB
  • Intel® HD graphics 4000 (integrated) almost like that~~~

Personally, I dont find W3 that easy on the hardware. I have 3ghz sandy bridge quad and a HD7770, and I struggled to get 30fps ave at 900p (low settings I think, but maybe medium, IDR). It may be "well optimized" in that the graphics are very good for the hardware but it is still a demanding game. Sorry to discourage you, but if W3 would run at all, it would be a very painful experience to try to play on even the latest intel igpu, much less a 3 generation old one.

As to the original question, I have been playing Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition and loving it. It has a couple of mechanics that are extremely annoying, like the Rock/paper/scissors mini game, but overall a great game. Fallout 4 was great for a while, but after I got to a certain point, the plot twist p****d me off so much I just quit. Otherwise, playing mostly older games, KOTOR 1 and 2 (innumerable replays, KOTOR 1 is probably my favorite game off all time), Age of Empires, Rise of Nations. (Was really the end of the golden age of PC gaming when MS shuttered Ensemble Studios.)

I recently bought an XBOX One controller and used that to play Shadow of Mordor and Dark Souls. I enjoyed both games. Shadow of Mordor was pretty easy and quick and was a nice game to play when I didn't have much time. Dark Souls was much more difficult and involved, but I enjoyed those aspects of the game.

I'm playing Brutal Legend and having a blast with it. I love the concept of a world made up from Heavy Metal Album covers.

The Binding of Isaac is currently my all time favorite game. Between my GF and I Steam says we have played 1800 hours of the game and we still have one challenge to complete to get the final achievement, hopefully before the next DLC comes out.

Care to elaborate? Been using Steam for 11 years and I haven't noticed any "shovelware" (whatever the hell that means) recently.

hah, 11 years... been on there since installing my 5-disk set of Half-Life 2 on launch day in 2004... and hating that I had to install it in order to play. Has come a long way, but the games just keep going downhill...

shovelware is like inexpensive, cheaply/poorly made, crappy games. he's right. it's full of crap these days, especially with the early access stuff. tons of stuff that i wouldn't even play if it was free.

People will publish anything on there if they think that they can make a quick buck. I get it, the economy is garbage and cost of living is out of control... but charging for your quarter-finished shadow box coding project is pure evil. They need to put an end to that, and I think they will because of all the complaints from people getting ripped off and "developers" going MIA. It's certainly not what it used to be, not by a long shot. There are good games on there too, but they are buried under an endless stream of junk projects. I am all for independent devs but not when everyone thinks they are entitled to profit because they spent a few hours in Python writing some awful code.

right, they need a way to filter out the junk or EA stuff

I still have my physical copies of Half Life 2 as well, but just because you think games are going downhill doesn't mean that Steam is going downhill. Their Greenlight system is horribly broken right now, so sometimes you just have to do a bit of digging to find the gems. However, they do have a pretty good record for keeping the better games on the main store page.

They just need to revise their policy on this influx of half-baked nonsense... overall Steam is a massive success in digital gaming

When GL started it was a decent concept, but a year later you could tell that it was going to be problematic. If 50% or so of games released were AAA titles, it's probably less than 5% now. I will admit that there are good ones that come along from lesser-known developers for sure, but it is crazy how much gets uploaded on there in a week's time.

I remember when Steam was just this blocky army green software that showed a list of installed games on your Windows XP desktop lol, but now it's basically a brand/OS on its own. I thought it was such a dumb idea to have to login to something just to play anything on my account; I don't even remember if there was offline mode, initially.

i'm now playing Sword Coast Legends single player campaign, going to finish it soon. top-down party-based RPG with D&D rules and pause-able battles.
its really fun with lots of content (about 50 hours if you do all side quests) but my main complaint is that its just too easy even on hardest difficulty.
after you get past the first area where you do struggle to survive because anything can one-hit you, the game gets roflstomp easy.
other than that, its loads of fun.

Interesting I played it when it first came out and it was bad enough that everyone was demanding refunds. Did they manage to fix it? I know they butched the dnd rules if you care about that.

Recently i have gone back to Path of exile, they came out with a big expansion and I already loved the game, i've been playing on and off for almost 3 years now, I mostly play alone , but still I love the grind!
Me and my friend were talking about which game we could play, and I said Rocket league, I was just joking but my friends really wanted to play, so we got back into it and we are playing ranked 3!

Try Valley, I found it refreshing and a change from the norm, but not too much.
The price is reasonable as well.

I liked Deus Ex, but did not like how it eventually hogged memory and dropped to unplayable levels or the long load times. The game itself though was better than I anticipated.

Dying light. Having a blast as I have never played it. Beautiful game.
Make sure you get the expansion The Following. I wouldn't recommend the Bozak DLC as it only adds a multiplayer arena and a bow to the main game, but The Following is well worth the money.

Well I finished Embers but it pretty much sucked. So now I'm finally starting up witcher 3; should keep me busy for the next month or two. Hopefully it will be a better game. Looks pretty snazy on a 1070.

The Division.

I didnt pay attention to all the hype and peer pressure and hate and discontent. I ignored everyone on the internet, waited a while to purchase it, and am now enjoying a fairly immersive experience.
Its an awful lot like Dying Light, except the focus is on guns instead of clubs. Also the controls suck and my character feels like a broken slug by comparison. But the gameplay is very similar in terms of exploring, crafting, helping people, and base-expansion. Also its about violent New-Yorkers instead of zombies so its considerably more realistic.

I've just gotten back into playing Star Wars The Old Republic and I'd forgotten how much work (and hundreds of millions of dollars) they poured into making it. Good art, sound fx, voice acting, etc. and with some changes it's now more of a single-player RPG than ever. It 's not quite as single-player focused as KOTOR 1-2 (I really wish they'd done KOTOR 3 instead) but it's a lot of fun if you like Star Wars.

(To me the class stories are more interesting than JJ-Wars)

I enjoyed the Division, but my expectation regarding on-line play was severely let down by all the hackers, and basically the way the Dark Zone was implemented. I even bought the season pass or whatever and haven't played the extra content. But, when I first started the Division, I thought it was really fantastic. I enjoyed the single player aspect of it and the missions (the first time, e.g., Russian Consulate) but grinding them repeatedly reminded me of diablo and why I quit.

I got into Rocket League a bit and was surprised at how fun the game is. There is quite a skill curve there but man, I was really hooked.

I really enjoyed the Witcher 3 and it was everything I wanted it to be. My new build is on hold now (waiting for hardware to match what I want) and it'll be a game that I replay again for sure.

Bioshock Infinite - It even ran well on my old PC. Great graphics, combat, and story. It's not that new any more but I did play it fairly recently.

Pretty much the same for me with The Division.

A great game I have played, and I would recommend to any one would be Sleeping Dogs. This game has a great fighting design and one hell of a story line. you're an undercover cop playing a roll in the Chinese mafia. Great game. Another game I liked was the saints row series, I played saints row 3 and 4, they have good story lines and it is extremely comical.
