I miss my Cyrix's too. The PR 300 (233mhz Cyrix II) finally died...it lived a good 5-year life (somewhat overclocked for part of it, and the last two years with a heatsink half the size it actually required....although it was underclocked).
The guys have it right.....I'm in college .
I'm persuing a degree in Computer Engineering, as most of you know. It's a tough program at UMD -- the advisors actually tell us that their program is not a realistic 4-year program (even though, because of the University administration, they are required to advertise it as such) -- mostly because they took 3/4 of the comptuer science requirements, and 3/4 of the electrical engineering requirements, plus the University requirements. So I'm here for 5 years....perhaps even more . But, I don't feel quite so bad, given that < 30% of computer engineers make it out in 4 years. But, because I'm going to be here for so long, I decided I'd just add another degree....so I'll be getting a degree in Computer Engineering, and another in Economics
I try to drop by here sometimes...but I don't have the same interest in the stats of distributed computing....and people don't really have questions about CPU architecture anymore...at least, from the few posts that I perurse these days, so I don't feel quite as needed here .
