What happened to that movie about the spaceship to the sun?

Anyone remember some movie where they were going to save the earth by traveling to the sun in a spaceship?

Got a DVD Release date of Jan. 8 according to movies.com. I'm definitely buying it; might even be my first foray into HD. Great movie.

Yep, thats the one. Seems it came and went in the theaters without me even knowing.

Also that it did 3.4 million at the box office.
3.4 million?
Rottentomatoes gave it 75 percent!

Yeah, but it was sci-fi! And it got a 75 percent.

Maybe it was 75 percent of the minuscule amount of people who actually saw it?

Agreed. They took a potenially good plot and totally butt-raped it the last half of the movie.

When there is 30 minutes left, just turn it off. Before that, it is amazing.

I really enjoyed it but I do agree towards the end it gets a little over the top.

I didn't mind the ending at all. Yeah, it changes tone quite a bit from the rest of the movie, but I thought it worked ok.
